Went on the Doubtful Sound Overnight cruise for a special birthday trip. This was during the Covid restrictions so passengers looked like an a Zorro convention. The trip lived up to expectations re scenery and solitude. Weird thing was there was another couple doing the birthday treat thing. The strange thing was both birthdays same day, same age. What's the chance of that. The meals were up to expectations as was the commentary which was both informative and interesting. Focused on both historical and natural history of region. The only disappointment was there was no fishing experience offered which happens with alternative tour operators. The crew were well trained on how to interact with passengers and were helpful as well as able to share a joke or three. Our only qibble was at $700 per person it was perhaps a bit on the high side for what people got for there money. Our advice would be to shop around to compare.

Great crew and adventure on Doubtful sound overnight cruise. This is a special place in New Zealand that I would highly recommend visiting.

This trip was pre booked by the tour company through this company. It was an excellent experience, rooms comfortable on the boat. Dinner was extras was breakfast. The crew also gave commentary and we were allowed to keep our overnight bags in our cabin until just before we docked. Thoroughly recommend this experience

This day trip was absolutely superb and incredibly well organised by Real Journeys. We were collected from our hotel at 7:00am and the coach left Queenstown before 8:00am. A 2 hour trip to Manapouri then transferred onto the catamaran for and hour long cruise across the lake, then another bus to the edge of Doubtful Sound, followed by a 3-4 hour cruise in the sound. We were lucky that the weather was perfect all day and the cruise around Doubtful sound was marvellous, really memorable. We explored various arms in the sound and went right through to the Tasman Sea where we saw some penguins basking on the rocks. We arrived back our hotel around 8:00pm so it's a full day out but not to be missed. A magnificent day out, really well organised by the Real Journeys team. Thank you all for a brilliant day out.

Very long coach drive, but oh my! was it worth it! Pick up from hotel to the Real Journeys office. Brian was the perfect driver and tour guide, with encyclopedic knowledge of the area and history. Amazing scenery all the way, with well timed comfort stops. The cruise on the Milford Mariner was so good - watching the scenery pass by while eating our packed lunch. We were blessed with perfect weather and so many photo opportunities. There was an option of a light aircraft flight back to Queensland. The only disappointment? No Keas - too hot for them down in the valley. Oh well, we'll just have to go back another time!
