This was better than i expected. First off, the boat is the perfect size. There is plenty of space inside and outside. You can get close to the water (which was important for us when we started to have dolphins leading the boat uber the bow!), you can go in the upper deck fore and aft, and there’s cozy and comfortable interior space with great viewing.
Second, I was expecting to just cruise in a long loop through the Sound, but we saw dolphins, seals and even caught sight of the penguins along the rocky shore.
Third, the staff (Thomas) was helpful and friendly. The captain was very informative over the speakers. The boat was clean. (Thomas even vacuumed up a bit during the trip. The coffee was hot, the cookies were good.
I highly recommend this operator and this cruise/boat for Milford. Enjoy!
PS We made the drive on our own from Te Anau. Beautiful drive!

Really enjoyed my time on this cruise. All the staff were friendly and made the trip very enjoyable. It was really nice to be on a boat with a little bit of breathing room. There was tons of space to sit and enjoy the view inside and outside!

Milford Sound is an absolutely stunning place to visit! We were lucky to have a bright sunny day which made the towering cliffs and waterfalls look all the more beautiful.
Getting in close to the falls was areal treat. I was also pleased to see a few fur seals basking on the rocks.
The drive from Te Anau to Milford is also a very scenic event!

We had an amazing trip.
Well organised. Arrived early, so we managed to get on an earlier boat.
The boat was small and not overcrowded. They state that they only take 50% capacity.
Felt very safe.
Coffee and cookies were complimentary.
Staff were very friendly.
The Captain was so funny, very informative, and sailed the boat safely, so close to the sides. Again, I felt very safe
Cloud moved in, but the scenery was absolutely stunning.

This was our 3rd Milford Sound cruise and enjoyed every bit. It was nice, warm & sunny. Took lots of photos of wildlife - fur seals baking in the sun. The sight of the little penguin, hopping amongst the rocks and later diving into the water was a unique sight. The cruise sailing into the waterfall was awesome experience. Would do again if opportunity comes our way.

Words cannot express how totally awesome this was. Cruise staff from the time I booked the trip were top rate. Highly recommend this company. The cruise itself was WOW in so many ways from the scenery, wildlife, to seeing something so untouched in this day and age, just beautiful, mother nature outdid herself. One of those lifetime memories you keep as the top best experiences you have done.

Great company / crew. Very knowledgeable. Boat was nice and clean and you will feel safe. Make sure to arrive on time. From Te Anau it is almost a two hour drive. The excursion itself is under two hours. But the beauty of Milford Sound is breathtaking.

Excellent day out of Te Anau to Milford Sound. Jonathan was a great driver/guide and very knowledgeable. He makes everyone comfortable. We had a full day programme, but no stress at all. The drive is magnificent, also thanks to the various stop and walks in the forests or at the lakes. The cruise was great, about 2 hours and very impressive. A highlight of our trip to NZ.

Fantastic experience and wonderful boat trip and commentary. Easy booking and check in. Got right up a close to the waterfalls, one where you could get wet (for a bit of fun) if you wanted, or not. We saw seals & penguins. Was worth paying the $30 for the parking close by, made it super easy. Highly Recommend.

I don't see the option to book the cruise + coach on TripAdvisor with this operator - only see it on their website. I'd prefer to book via TripAdvisor if possible...anyone see the option?

We are currently in the process of loading our coach and cruise on TripAdvisor. For the day tour we require a lot more details from you compared to the cruise only so we want to make sure we get it right. This should be up and running by next week. You can book a cruise only through TripAdvisor and then ring us on 0064 3 398 6112 to add on the coach. Or just sent us and email with your TripAdvisor booking reference.

Hi, does this only involve the cruise and not the transfers from queenstown? Is the drive from queenstown smooth and doable?

We drove ourselves but you may be able to get a coach/cruise with the same company. The drive is long and winding but easy, and there are lots of points to stop and see some stunning sights. We left just before 7am for a 2.45pm cruise to get ahead of all the coaches and stopped for breakfast at Te Anau. This gave us plenty of time to stop on the way.

How bad is the parking? We would like to do the cruise but worry about the parking. What time would be best time of the day to start the cruise?

Hi. Parking can be completely full at certain times of year and you can have up to a 40 min wait for a carpark.

How far in advance do I need to book? We are arriving in Christchurch on feb10 and plan to do a self drive around the South Island. We really would like to do your cruise but are not sure at present of when in our 3 week holiday we will get to Milford Sound.

Do you collect Travellers from Sherwood in Queenstown?
Also, we have a person in our group with bladder issues. Does your bus and boat have bathroom facilities?
