My husband and I did the Stirling Sunriser trip and had a great time. We were able to get spots a couple days in advance, and found Rosco's to be a well run company. Our guide JD was great, there were 7 guests in our group. As others have mentioned weather is a big factor in Milford Sound, but the... More

My wife and I had the good fortune of being told about Rosco's. We had stayed at the Milford Sound Lodge and they suggested we enjoy a sunrise Kayak trip. What an incredible experience, to wake up and see the sunrise and paddle through one of the most breathtaking and awe inspiring locations. What made our experience so special was... More

We went on the evening kayak and absolutely loved it! Much quieter than going during the day - no aircraft and we only saw two boats out on the Sound. Mark was fantastic, making me (a novice kayaker) feel very safe and also communicating his love of the Sound. We had to paddle into the wind for about half the... More

Beautiful sunny (and apparently rare) morning. Clear and thorough briefing with 2 groups together, they provide all clothing and material. Mandela was our lovely and friendly guide, providing interesting facts during short breaks on the water. 3 kayaks in the group with her, was a perfect number. Wish the tour took longer as I had still energy left at the... More

A little confusing to start since it was unclear where the actual meeting spot was since we were 10 minutes early but nothing that a little signage couldn't fix. The kayak itself was beautiful, and pretty easy. Saw sea lions up close and heard wonderful stories and facts from our very personable guide Mandela. My kiwi fiancé loved it and... More

Kayaking in Milford Sound was one of the highlights of my month-long vacation in New Zealand. If you book a kayaking trip, try to get Mandela as your guide. Not only is she very knowledgeable and skilled as a guide, but also she's energetic and friendly, and clearly cared about making a personal connection with all of the members of... More

While I did love Milford Sound, I was expecting a little more. I think the weather probably had something to do with it though. It was overcast and a bit gloomy, so while we went on the afternoon tour and hoped for a beautiful sunset, what we actually got was grey clouds and hideous headwinds, choppy waters and HARD WORK!... Kayaked the afternoon delight and had a great time. Had been surprisingly dry up there so minimal waterfalls but we lucked out with little wind and a clear sky. We lucked out by seei g a pod of two types of dolphins that our guide and us were all excited for so we played/kayaker among them for quite a while.... More

This was the second time we visited Milford sound. Last year it was pouring buckets and we did a cruise. we figured we would go back for a much more relaxing kayak tour on a calm sunny day. We loved both adventures! I must say that if you're gunna be there on a calm and sunny day, kayaking with Roscos... More

We exchanged a couple a emails with Rosco's before deciding on the Day Safari which includes return transport from Te Anau to Milford. We drove 2 hrs to Te Anau from Queenstown on the morning of the tour and were driven to Milford by Ollie our lovely guide. The drive was comfortable and we had a nice time chatting with... More
