One man’s passion started it all. Experience a family legacy that has become the largest private automotive museum of its type in the world. Stunningly crafted within a world-class facility, Bill Richardson Transport World has something for everyone. Hugely popular, you will find more than 300 vehicles including retro Kombis, Henry Ford Letter Cars, Model Ts, stunning 1930s V8s and over 200 vintage petrol pumps. Outside of our extraordinary vehicle range we house a growing wearable arts collection, movie theatre, children’s play zones and themed bathrooms fast becoming as famous as our vehicles. Allow plenty of time - there is a lot to see.

I've been to this type of car/truck/tractor museum all over the country and I've never seen such a nice collection with awesome displays!!!

This was so much bigger than we anticipated and has oodles of vehicles, vintage collections and some wearable art type things. We thoroughly enjoyed our two hours and could have been there longer had my hubby not got a sore leg. Excellent cafe too with vintage rooms - we did the 70s room which took us back.

Very rarely can I give 5 out of 5 for every element of anywhere I visit. This attraction exceeds this score on every count. The museum itself warrants the highest accolades but also the restaurant and the facilities are also the best quality.

Absolutely amazing transport world was worth every penny, has something for everyone and sounds weird but the toilets, what a surprise, so well presented

Awesome little place to look around and see all the different cars and other transport orientated attractions. They even have an old school drive in movie theatre.

My adult son (who is a local) took me here for a visit. It wasn't something I would have usually gone to if I hadn't been taken but I'm delighted I went.
The exhibits and sheer volume of vehicles and artifacts on display is astounding.
The quality is unparalleled and the diaramas are believable and appropriate in every case.
The only criticism would be you need to be warmly dressed as there is no heating in the exhibition areas and in winter weather it is definitely cool inside.
The staff are helpful and friendly and the exhibition areas and all public areas are spotlessly clean and tidy.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VISIT

Super expensive for a museum!
Having said that, the displays and vehicles themselves were impeccably presented. The caravans were my favourite. My son and husband loved it.
This was the whole reason we included Invercargill in our holiday and despite the price and terrible service, it was worth the visit.
The woman at reception was not friendly at all. Maybe she was having a bad day.

And always love an auto museum. Big, it’s really big. Claim to be largest in world.

Disappointing, unless you like trucks. Was expecting cars but were very few to see. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend it unles you want to see American trucks

Extremely interesting museum. More trucks, caravans, combis that you will see anywhere. Brilliantly restored.A very large museum, it goes on and around the corner there are more… Allow a few hours as there is much to see, There is also a very good cafe and a good shop

Both Bill Richardson Transport World and Classic Motorcycle Mecca are open every day of the year. The only day we close is Christmas Day.
