We were initially planning on going down to the Big Dig at Curio Bay but with the rainy cold weather we decided a day in the warm pools of Splash Palace would be a better alternative.
All three of our boys enjoyed the pools including myself. Lots of flotation devices & balls in the pools to keep young minds entertained. The odd shaped pools, small fountains and waterfalls make for a nice change from the normally rectangular pools!
Good number of lifeguards on duty, walking around and swapping stations keeping them sharp and vigilant.
A great addition was when we went to get a snack and coffee from the cafe we found a couple of Keto options! Great work on catering for the low carb fraternity!
All in all a great day out with family, not overly busy considering its Xmas break.
Recommended attraction!

Visited with 8yo on 30 degree scorcher of a day. Pool and facilities were relatively cool so was refreshing. Changing rooms still in need of a major upgrade. Nice and cool in the main pool.

The facilities at Splash Palace are of a quality standard. The southland coastal theme was a nice touch with great murals & faux rocks, trees & birds. We went at peak time just after three on a week day so was quite crowded - may have gave been nicer to go a bit earlier. But my daughter loved the hydroslide & wave pool - which is on the small side but good & safe. Pity the cafe closed before we left as we would have liked to have tried one of their monster shakes :( the Spa & Sauna for adults only is a nice bonus & we enjoyed it a lot. As we are campervan travellers it is also a great place to use the hot showers. Great for a family fun activity. Two adults & one child cost us $16.50 +50c for a family sized storage locker. Great value.

Splash Palace Invercargill Swimming Pool
Visited the pool for the first time on Friday the 27th of September 2019. Payed $6.40 at the door. Went into the adult mens changing room which was narrow not leaving much room for me to pass an old naked guy getting changed. Got changed and read the signs that there were no security cameras and it was advised that I purchased a lockable locker at additional cost. Went into the pool and was disappointed to see that the 50 metre swimming pool that was advertised on their website was in reality less than 25 metres as it had been divided in half by a large concrete wall with diving platforms arranged on it for the deep side of the divide. The whole pool area was dimly lit which took me some adjusting too. Entered the water in a lane designated by a sign for a medium swimmer and found it to be colder than I was used too. Started my swim at 9.22 a.m. and on reaching the concrete divide found it difficult to turn around as the edge of the divide was quite high out of the water. Noticed on lap ten the signs designating the swimming lanes being removed and the lane dividers were then loosened ready to be removed which I had to push aside to continue my swim. Was then informed by a nice girl that this section of the pool was to be used by school children at 10 a.m. and that swimming lanes were available at the other half of the pool. I told her that I would be fininished my swim before then and continued not knowing that they were going to put the lane dividers back in horizontally which I found out when I swam into them. Disgusted by the whole experience I swore at one of the girls who informed me that I should have read the signs on the way into the pool telling me that this section of the pool was closed to lane swimming from 9.30 a.m. So I left. The only highlight of visiting Splash Palace was the modern showers which were in separate cubicles with a latch on the door which enabled me to shower and dress in privacy. On leaving the premises I voiced my dis-satisfaction to the receptionist at my treatment by staff as it was my first time there who offered me a free pass for my next swim which I declined to accept as I will not be returning there. Highly recommend the Gore Aquatic Centre if you are visiting the area although the showers are not as good with little privacy. Only $5 dollars a swim and a much better facility overall.

We meant to try out Splash Palace for many months, and finally got round to it, one overcast Saturday morning. Lots of parents with children about the place (and that could have been very off-putting). All we were looking for was to soak our weary muscles in a hot spa pool, maybe a short sauna. We meant to read all the information in the lobby and then decide if we wanted to enter. The friendly staff at reception assured us that the hot pool was open, and the entry price was a very reasonable (maybe my student ID had something to do with it). Buy a cheap coin for the lockers, if you want to keep your stuff under lock and key.
Changing rooms were clean and well organised. Lots of children about, but that was expected, and worked well. Clean showers and toilet facilities, and - from what I could make out - private showers for people with disabilities. Loved the flow: walk in at one end with your streetwear on, and out the other in your togs, just as a modern facility is supposed to flow.
Inside a big pool with lanes for the dedicated swimmer, a dive pool where the synchronised swimmers were practising (what a bonus), a pool for children with wave action coming on every so often, and in the elevated middle of it all, our spa pool, next to the sauna. Cold shower, and a very cold plunge pool to top it off.
We really enjoyed our stay, and will be back for more. Not over the top flash, but everything you want from a decent pool facility. Recommended.

Exercise that's healthy and refreshing - no pounding the pavements here, just fun and chatter. Regular routine attendees exchange the 'news-of-the-day' and the mostly fun-jokes; the music can be catchy, encourages extra exercises.

Possibly expecting too much from this business. The front-of-house staff were very blasé and didn't seem to care about anything, the rental lockers didn't work at all despite paying for them, and the Saturday evening we were there all but the leisure pool were closed due to a swim meet (even the hydroslide was closed). Despite this we were still charged the full admission fee. Also, the on-site coffee shop (the only food and beverage vendor) closes at 4pm - so take food and beverages with you if you're going after this time.

The pools are clean, there is a swirl pool and steam room, aqua jogging, pool for laps, children's pool and cafe. What a wonderful way to get fit and have fun at the same time

$3 per kid to swim, ride the water slide and play in the wave pool. Spent a couple of hours there - they even provide mags for lazy mums to read- brilliant!
