We were coming back from Bluff when we saw the boardwalk across the lagoon and estuary. We went for a walk and enjoyed all the birdlife along the way. It was also really nice seeing so many people of all ages enjoying the walk. After...More

Visited on Wednesday 2nd May. This area is full of so much of the early history of Invercargill and it would be a shame if it was lost, hopefully it will be restored for future generations to enjoy. Worth visiting if you have the time.

The last piece of the remaining wharf has now been fenced off as unsafe, and I expect it will soon go the way as the rest of the wharf with just the stumps remaining. Still there is the replica of the wooden tracked train, but...More

Easy walk - it includes a board walk loop track. Nice views of the estuary. Family friendly and a good place to have a picnic. There’s an old boat for the kids to climb and play on.

Opportunity to walk the boardwalk and see the estuary in all its glory and beauty. Just make sure you choose a good day, otherwise wrap up warm. Good track and view.

For 'safety reasons' the wharf has been barricaded off. ICC needs wither to fundraise to make the wharf 'safe' or move onto something else. As it stands the site is disappointing.

Put on a windproof jacket and take the 5km walk. Our group of 6 fifty plussers, walked off a potential hangover, post Bluff Oyster Festival. It was invigorating, scenic and well presented. A great spot for camera buffs on dusk.

My husband and I bike around the estuary to the wharf all the time and it still makes us stop and appreciate the beauty of this place. It is really beautiful, scenic and peaceful, I run between thinking how peaceful it is and how I...More

Try and time you visit with the tide being in otherwise you wont see this attraction at its best. Take 45 minutes to take the round trip walk. Great water bird life to see. Walk is flat and easy going. Don't get caught out going...More
