Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So much fun. This was my third time doing the Big Dig. Kiri-Ann and Lex were very welcoming and friendly. The operation is very professionally run and I would recommend it to anyone, even if you are not a heavy machinery nut like me.
I hope to go back again next year.

We had originally booked to do this in November as a surprise for a mates 70th birthday, but Covid got in the way and we finally got to do it early April. The weather was great and the experience was awesome. The best part for me was taking the balls off the cones, putting them into tyres, then taking a ball off the cone with the bucket and replacing it back on the cone from the bucket.
Lex was absolutely amazing and has the patience of a saint. Paula, in the office and official photographer, was very helpful and most obliging.
The bathrooms done out in the "Big digger" theme were also great.
The whole experience, including Transport World and Motorcycle Mecca, along with the cafe/restaurant were also brilliant.
Would I do it again, or recommend these to others? Hell yeah!! Bravo and many thanks to all involved.
Thanks for the great hospitality in the deep south from more Auckanders or JAFFAs

Lost my reviews without saving cause the app crashed.
So short answer, I like diggjng,

favorite part is the two joystics with 3 degrees of movements for the bucket (with machine arm) with another 1 for the cabin and another 2 like driving a normal vehicles.

i feel like driving a transformer than driving a car

This was a pre-birthday treat for my teenage daughter. She chose the Big Push, operating a bulldozer to move dirt around and then to drive up and over a big mound. That description doesn't do the experience justice at all - this was possibly the best hour or so we have spent together. Matt and Journey were great.

I enjoyed the whole experience but the highlight was doing 360 degree spins at a high speed on the Skid Loader & the Big Digger. Absolutely amazing. Mat was an excellent instructor & gave good clear instructions.

Had my 6 year olds birthday party at Dig This. Just amazing, We had 20 kids on site and they were well entertained throughout. The party room was great, and Lex the junior digger instructor showed the patience of a saint getting all 20 kids through a great experience. We had a hidden treasure hunt in the sand pit and all the kids loved seeing the big diggers in action too, Just great fun, and a perfect venue for kids party's

Thanks so much for your review, and thanks also for choosing Dig This as the venue for your six year old's birthday party. We love meeting all of our visitors, but we do have to admit - we get a real kick out of seeing the little ones take on the machines. We hope to see you again soon.

It was snowing and cold but my girls age 6 & 9 years olds loved it and had a great time operating the mini diggers. The staff was very friendly and receiving a certificate in the end was a blast to the girls. We even add the photo package for great memory for the girls.

My boys 7 and 12 did a mini dig. Initially I thought $20 was too expensive for a 10 min activity but we were pleasantly surprised. Boys for almost 20 mins, Instructors were super friendly and supportive. Nice touch of a photo at end and a certificate. Looking forward to visiting again.

Fantastic experience. Well run operation, you get to put the machine through its paces in a safe and controlled way with clear instructions throughout. Using an excavator to pick up and place a ball is a must do exercise. Would go again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend it.

This was so much fun, we were lucky enough to get a two for one deal on the big diggers. we had a great coach giving us instruction on what to do and how to do it, the only down fall was the we were both doing it at the same time, so we did get any photos of us doing the different activities, they do come out and take a photo of you sitting in the digger, but they cant take photos when you are driving them.
Next time we do it we will do it at different times, we loved it so much we nearly went back the next day. We will be back, and we recommend giving it a go even if you are not into heavy equipment.

Kia ora Sharlene and Paul, thanks so much for leaving us a review. We're so pleased to hear you had a great time - but we totally understand wanting to capture the moment and commemorate your time operating our grunty machinery! Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, we are unable to allow guests to take photos while they're out on the field. We take the wellbeing of our guests extremely seriously, and really do appreciate your understanding of this - as well as pointing this out to ensure other potential guests are aware of this prior to their visit. We really look forward to welcoming you back, and checking out all of your snaps, sometime soon. Thanks again for visiting us.
