- ChrisSMelbourne, Australia13 contributionsWorld class motorcycle museum found at the bottom of the world.Three levels of world class rare and vintage motorcycles found only at the bottom of New Zealand. Some big ticket machines (cost and rarity) you may only see once in a lifetime and the Britten display is great to see only here. The building is a wonderful old building repurposed to compliment the machines on display with various unique touches to look out for such as camshaft balustrade pillars, conrod handrail supports etc. With other motorcycle related displays in close proximity, this is a must for any motorcycle enthusiast.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 November 2023

I’ve seen some large and valuable collections, but never the size and the variety as this. 15000 sq metres of floor area, three stories, 100’s of bikes. To see five Brough Superior’s and four Henderson’s parked in a row says something. Amazing.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 12 February 2024
- Ron GWhangarei, New Zealand4 contributionsMust SeeFantastic. So pleased we visited. The variety of bikes and sidecars was amazing. Visited the cafe which is in the same building and the food was delicious and very reasonable. Spent an enjoyable morning there. If you want to go to the 2 museums buy the tickets together, cheaper price.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 March 2024

This place has a great selection of motorcycles over three floors. A significant number of British bikes from the 1920s onwards, which is always good to see.
Also very informative about the development of the motorcycle right through to racing them.

Accompanied my husband who loves motorbikes and rode them in his youth. There were so many of the old ones he or his mates had ridden previously. He couldn't get over the attention to detail & condition they were in. I absolutely loved the whole experience, especially the part about Burt Munro having seen the film "The World's Fastest Indian" some time ago.

One of our bucket list things to do... both Transport World and Motorcycle Mecca and WOW what a collection of amazingly restored vehicles. There is clearly passion behind every vehicle collected, restored and a story - just WOW. Spent all day visiting both collections and would definitely come back again and spend another day here. A MUST if you are in Invercargill and a MUST for a south island visit!

Went in today for my birthday lunch and was greeted with a smile. Seated and had amazing service from a lovely lady with a bun in her hair ( give her raise ) . 3 of us ordered the bikers breakfast which was everything we ordered and better and 1 of us had wedges which were amazing. It was fantastic food and service and I reccomend it if you're ever struggling to decide what you want for breakfast/brunch.

We had a break away package through a travel agent which came with a deal for entry to Motorcycle mecca. While it was interesting to wander through it was not as good as the other half of the deal into Bill Richardson Transport World (in our opinion anyway) it is spread out over 3 levels and there are a lot of bikes to see.

We experienced a wet day in Invercargill and chanced on this fantastic collection. The layout and design is just superb. Usually in bike museums the bikes are crammed in so you don’t get a good look but here they are thoughtfully displayed so you can get a good view. The bikes are meticulously maintained and the environment is first class. The toilet wash basins are innovative and follow the motoring theme.
A visit to this excellent venue won’t disappoint even if you are not a bike enthusiast.
