Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent service here. I was able to purchase a map for 2 historical walks through the centre, cost .50c what a brilliant purchase. The centre provides tour info and booklets, with super helpful and friendly staff willing t be of help.

Whenever there is a cruise ship in town you know it is going to be busy around town, especially visitor centres. The people here were great, and took the time to give you as much information as you wanted. We were also lucky enough to get a booklet on Fiordland where were cruising through the following day. Right in the Octagon, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Picked up tickets for the Dunedin Hopper Bus here as well as an array of maps and other info. Definitely recommend for first-time visitors to Dunedin.

This information centre is just awesome. There are lots of brochures and advertising material and the staff are so very knowledgable and helpful. This is definitely the very first place to visit if wanting to explore Dunedin.

I-SITE Dunedin is a one-stop shop for tourism in Dunedin.
In the Octagon, it is the place to book tours or collect maps to help independent travellers enjoy their stay in one of the most scenic and historic parts of NZ.
Informative, and surrounded by souvenir ships, this is a great place to start, or finish a Dunedin trip!

We visited the iSite to attempt to find something to do as other plans fell through. There are maps available as well as folks who can steer you in the right direction. The little gift shop had some neat things as well, but we went mainly for the info. You can also book tours out of there which is very helpful. A must stop if you find your self with gaps in your itinerary.

For coin collector, remember to get two souvenir coins at i-Site.
One is penguin pattern and one is Baldwin street(Steepest street in World). And you can get another one at the Railway Station with the beautiful Railway station building. Each coin cost $2.

To a person, everyone at the center is typical of everyone we met in Dunedin...friendly helpful and kind. Please do yourself a favor and drop in here to get help with exploring the region.

We caught a bus into the city centre as we were driving a campervan around the South Island. Suggest you google "car parks Dunedin city" and pick a car park close to where you want to go.

Hello Andy, I'm very sorry to hear about your less than acceptable experience at our i-SITE, this is not the normal service we provide. Can you tell me if the centre was busy and what day you were in as I would like to be able to follow this up with the staff concerned. Please accept my sincere apologies that you received no attention.

We arrive on a cruise in November and dock in the Port of Chalmers. Is there frequent transportation from the port to Dunedin and return?

There are public buses ever half hour in the morning and every 40 mins or so in the afternoon.
