Farmers market at the Dunedin Railway Station
Feb 2021
The Farmers Market is next to the railway station in Dunedin (a must see). There is a variety of home grown and homemade goods for sale as well as food and coffee available. Worth a visit, if only to see all the characters at the market!

Excellent farmer's market. Had the dumplings and a bacon buttie. Both were great. The fresh produce and the meat such as Havoc Pork looked fantastic. I'm not in town long enough to buy any but it was certainly tempting.

Highly recommended if you're in Dunedin over the weekend (opened every Saturday from 8-12:30 and once the country lock down is lifted). Located right beside the iconic Railway station you can pick fresh fruit, veg, meat and flowers. We got some cheap strawberries, blueberries and apples. The real find was the giant salmon we purchased for only $12. Chinese woman before us was trying to barter by offering $10...didn't realize southeast Asia rules of trade don't apply in NZ. My wife got ingredients like onion and garlic to cook the salmon back at our hostel. **there is a truck that sells good souvenirs. Be sure to get your free magnet.

Well worth a visit

Love this place. The fresh and fruit is reasonably priced and is so much better than the stuff in the supermarket. Lots of organic stuff available. Good choice of food vendors of all varieties. Seek out Beano’s lamingtons- they are divine.

Great for a breakfast and coffee
Oct 2019
Wandered around the market, which is very much a farmer's market, I imagine it'd be amazing for locals shopping at the weekend. For a tourist, it's still great, I had a delicious bagel, really good, and great coffee. Would've loved to take some of the food home, but not sure it would have made the trip very well.

Always go Saturday when I visit Dunedin. Bacon butties, pies, fruit and veg and lots of other nice things. The new favourite is the Saj cooked by a guy from Syria and these are delicious.

Farmers market
Recommended to go there by a local to search out UrbnVino, so i did. Now as an aside, UV is only going to be there for another 2 weeks, he said, then will be concentrating on his storefront in town. Nonetheless this is a small but solid farmers market, looks like a throwback to 60’s USA....Very PC, there’s even some sort of recycling concierge, lots of aging hippies, coffee, fruits vegetables, meats (bought smoked venison sausage), found Urbn vino (it’s chilling in my fridge as this is being typed...), Wild Larder, and so forth. Well worth the visit. Right next to the train station, literally. Spend money, help keep these folks in business.

Abundance of Food!
Dec 2019
Take a bag with you when you go to the Otago Farmer's Market at the Dunedin Railway Station on Saturday mornings as there will be plenty of fresh food, produce and artisan specialities that you'll want to take home.

Fresh fruit, vegetables, wine, small goods, condiments, craft beer and lots of superb food and beverages made on site for you to enjoy.
