Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A groups of friends all went along to see Otago v Tasman game in rugby. The stadium is very cool inside, helped by the roof the covers it. The stadium is open at the sides so it can still be a little chilly, depending on the weather. One thing that wasn’t so good was the cost of drinks but that is the same across most stadiums worldwide.

Good getting there as shuttle buses run from Octagon to Stadium. Quite breezy standing in the food merchandise area. Wind came in from one end of the stadium as its not totally closed environment. Make sure you have warm clothing for inside the stadium. When I was there weather was wet and terrible. After concert there was a lack of information on where to find the shuttle buses back into the Octagon. Lots of us people from out of town had the same problem and were milling about in the rain looking for the buses. I decided to walk back to Octagon. I think traffic plans could be better but having a roof on the stadium was its saving grace on that particular day.

Forsyth Barr Stadium has been known by a number names, including Otago Stadium. It's also called "The Gassshouse," as it is a fully enclosed clear stadium with a grass playing surface.. New Zealand is mad about Rugby Union, and the Glasshouse is homeground for the Highlanders. "The Zoo" is popular with the students from the Univesity of Otago, said to be New Zealand's equivilant of Oxford. The new stadium has replaced.Carisbrook, which was known as "The House of Pain." This is certainly a magnificent stadium and hosts international music acts as well as sport. The Higlanders are based in Dunedin, and compete in the Super Rugby competition. The team is named after the Scots who pioneered the area in the 19th century.

Having never been to a concert here, we bought our $240 tickets for Queen & Adam Lambert in good faith. We thought we had good seats. I have loved this music all of my adolescent life and into adulthood and was completely gutted when I couldn't even distinguish the songs! The music was muffled and echoed. Since the concert I have found out that this is common knowledge to those in the know, which must include the people at Forsyth & Barr. This knowledge needs to be disclosed before people pay for these tickets and the tickets should be priced accordingly. I will never return and will fly to Wellington in future.

We paid for good seats for Queen + Adam Lambert and watched a great act get totally destroyed by the shocking sound system. I know the system can work as the Roger Waters sound a year earlier was great. This time it was distorted, unbalanced, echoed and you could not hear any lyrics.

We have been to a few concerts at this venue with mixed results. The best sound is front and center. We had seats a few years ago at the back south side and the sound was lousey, get the gorse out of the pockets and pay for the better areas..

Prob one of the best beer festivals I’ve been to, not just for the beer , the actual venue makes this a very special event.
Super cool ETFE roof and naturally lends itself to all sorts of events.
Worth checking out for the architecture alone.

We were fortunate enough to be gifted tickets to watch the Highlanders play the Sharks on Friday night. Unfortunately the Highlanders lost but that does not detract from the stadium experience. The whole stadium is covered which will make it an awesome venue rain or shine.

Attended Forsyth Barr Stadium in Feb 2020 for two concerts. Venue is great and so glad the venue is covered. The only thing I dont like is that they take the lids off all bottles. It is a pain if you not drinking the straight away. I watched a couple in front of us waste half a bottle out of two OJs and they didn't even take a sip yet

Attended the Elton John concert. Parked in a mobility parking space which was fine. What was NOT fine was the 1.5 hours it took to drive away from the stadium. There was no traffic control at intersections to ensure traffic could smoothly exit the area. Instead it was gridlock for 1.5 hours. Spoiled the experience. Just as well the concert by Elton John was fantastic. As for Forsyth Barr stadium, it was total amateur hour getting away from it after the concert. Never again!
