Great experience, so much interesting stuff to see and do! But I hoped that planetarium would have had more movement and music.

It's worth checking out this museum, modern building with various exhibits. Admission is free except for selected exhibits eg Dinosaur exhibit. An hour is enough. Good for families

Something for everyone. Particularly liked the Edmund Hillary items, remember the sunglasses? Even the loos provided some interesting facts and figures.

I went there in the morning when it just opened. It’s free of price to go around and check every floors unless you wanna do some certain activity. There were lots of informative display regarding the animals, ship, human culture, Māori culture and different islands....More

Thank you for your review! You're right, while we do have one of the largest collections in NZ we are not as large as Wellington's Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa Tongarewa)

This is a wonderful museum. I think it is the best in New Zealand. Lots of science, lots of history. Very well done.

Dunedin was once New Zealand's biggest and richest city, and it's museum reflects that. Good Polynesian and European antiquities collections.

Wonderful few hours spent wandering. Make sure you donate before you leave. Well worth your time. Lots to see and a nice cafe.
