This museum has a lot to offer. Unlike the other museums that I've visited here in New Zealand, Otago Museum has hand-outs that they give away to guests for free. I find it cool so you do not need to read the entire thing while...More

Spent a quick couple of hours with the kids having a quick look around. Kids enjoyed getting involved with all the hands on sci eve activities and the butterfly room.

Great place to take younger kids (4-11), has a lot of games and interactive tools for kids. They also have a butterfly museum, which tops off the trip for the younger ones! Highly recommended

We spend roughly 2 hours here visiting basically everything. The amount of stuff to see is very good and so is the quality. It is always interesting to see the history of the native Maori people and to learn more about their culture.

The museum boasts an beautiful butterfly room, huge assortment of antiquities and a reasonably priced cafe. (I'm a Uni student and I still go there for my daily coffee.) If your visiting Dunedin, it cant be missed.

What a wonderful museum. Full of history and treasures. Loved the Egyptian room with vases nearly 5,000 years old and mummies. Into the butterfly room where you are in a rainforest with a thousand butterflies flying around you by the waterfall and landing on you....More

A really lovely place to spend an hour or two. I have visited the museum a number of times and always find it a great experience. They also have a cafe indoors that appears to cater for all food needs.
