This stately and lovingly well kept home is filled with fine antiques. The manicured gardens made our hearts sing and the friendly docents charmed us. The map made it appear closer and the rather steep uphill walk from the visitors center caused us to arrive...More

Great house, we were luck to be the only two doing the tour. The tour was great & the young lady doing it knew all the details.

We really enjoyed our tour of the mansion. It is like stepping into a time capsule. It is amazing that when the property was donated that it was so intact with all the personal possessions that were collected over the years.

This is a gem, on our list as a must visit before we left UK. It is great that the house has been retained for us to enjoy and to learn the history of the period. Access is only available via 1hour guided tours(chargeable) but...More

This is the best collection of original artefacts of a bygone day ever. The house and contents were gifted to the City of Dunedin and guided tours are available every day.

This is a fascinating, historic house. The tour guide was very informative and her love for this very interesting place was quite obvious. So glad it has been saved for the people of Dunedin.

Our guide is very informative and enthusiastic. We enjoyed the tour very much and learnt a lot about the life back in time. Only wish we can spend a little more time in each room to look at the collectables.

Hi Spiderspoon, Thanks for your message. Olveston is not a walk from the Cruise Terminal, rather located near the centre of Dunedin (the Octagon) on the hill behind the city. We are a 15-20min walk from the centre and about... More
