Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were walking around the Dunedin town centre and came across this church.

It is amazing to look at and take in the size of the building.

You are also allowed to walk inside and have a look.

Very impressive.

Very nice church that is worth a visit rather than St Pauls on the Octagon - in my opinion. It is just a street down from that area but many people miss it.

This Presbyterian Church has a significantly gothic exterior and less ornate interior.
Parishioners are welcoming and proud of the church. They greeted and encouraged me to view the interior before 10am services.
That reflects well.

The First Church of Otago is probably one of the most impressive buildings in Dunedin and dates back to 1873, twenty five years after the first settlers arrived. Inside it is less spectacular but worth a look.

This 19th century white stone building is very impressive, especillay as it is located on one of several hills in Dunedin. As the interior was closed we could only admire its impressive turrets and spires apart from the very tall central spire. The gothic style church is in white marble unlike many other Dunedin buildings in Blue stone.

Couldnt help go and have a look at the church. It looked incredible from a distance but inside the windows are just beautiful. This is free and worth a look.

Standing on Bell Hill, Fist Church is a magnificent looking structure and though fairly simple inside it is a pleasure to walk round. The stained glass looks very good

Best to view at night on the Ghost tour and then go back the next morning to compare. Then go visit the Northern Cemetery to view a smaller version commissioned by Mr Larnach as his final resting place

Such a brilliant looking church. We learnt about the history of it on our Hair Raising Tour at night and went to look at it during the day.
