My wife and I were on a three week New Zealand tour driving ourselves. Twice we were rained out of helicopter tours - once to see Doubtful Sound and then the glacier at Franz Joseph. Our final stop was Dunedin and on our way there, we found HH online and called Paul while driving to Dunedin at 2pm. By 12pm the next day, Paul is landing on the sheep field behind our hotel by Larnach Castle and away we go down the coastline to lunch...crazy. Finally got my helicopter ride!

Paul flew us down to Fleur's Place for great seafood and very local food lunch. Will be reviewing this place as well. We landed in the little parking lot by the water and had lunch on the patio overlooking the bay. We invited Paul to lunch because how fun is lunch with a local to get the scoop about New Zealand. Yes, we had wine but Paul was the DD so away we left, flying over the harbor and getting the lay of the land with great info from Paul.

We finished with a picture back at the sheep farm and ended our five hour adventure. We were really glad we spent the money and did the extended private tour with lunch. It was one of the highlights of our trip! This is a must do when in Dunedin for sure!

Paul and Kirsty gave our family a wonderful experience celebrating my sister's 50th birthday. Being wheelchair bound, she needed some additional help, and they went out of their way to be attentive and assist in any way possible. Thoroughly nice people to deal with. Appreciated your kindness, good humour, clear communication and technical competence. Thank you! You have our unreserved recommendation!

We had an excellent family trip over the Otago harbour, up the coast to Moeraki, inland to the Maniototo before coming back to the base via middlemarch.

A special trip with our elderly mum, Paul the pilot was excellent and provided good commentary on points of interest.

Kirsty was excellent to deal with, and her communication was fantastic.

She even managed to provide great weather.

A once in a lifetime experience - we thoroughly enjoyed it.

For the majority of people a helicopter flight is something others do - something they could only dream about.

Well thanks to Kirsty and Paul Williams of Highland Helicopters they allowed my husband and I to dream - for 2 and half hours
Our dream became reality flying from Mosgiel to Lake Wanaka and return. We pinched ourselves at the view, flying up to a glacier and closer to Mt Aspiring than we ever thought possible, but none of this could have happened without the absolute expertise of Paul as our pilot and guide.

For 5 days we waited for the weather to be perfect. Kirsty made it very clear to us on arrival in Dunedin that if the weather was not perfect he would not fly. He had to be sure we could safely fly and return in the time frame allocated without any risk to the machine or the passengers.

On our fifth day in Dunedin we got the call to be at the hangar at 9am ready to go. After going through the safety protocols before we took flight Paul explained the flight plan. We had given him carte blanche with the flight, we were strangers to the area and he was the expert so we placed our trust in him and Kirsty to deliver what we had communicated in numerous emails going back and forth from Sydney to Dunedin.

The flight was an absolute blast. For us, a once in a lifetime - a memory maker that will not be beaten. To be flown close to a glacier you felt you could touch if you reached out the window, to see Mt Aspiring close up knowing you would never reach that height other than in the flying machine you were in. To see the valleys, the old gold workings, the trails and the absolute stunning mountains that a drive would never deliver and all the while being given the commentary from the pilot who clearly knew his subject. Paul you were the utmost professional and a wonderful story teller and we cannot thank you and Kirsty enough for your time and effort since our first contact months ago to the fulfilment of the surprise for my husband (who I wasn’t sure would even get on the helicopter!) to him saying this was the highlight of our trip and the highlight of all his holidays. Thank you both, you deserve all your success. We hopefully will be back..There is no other reason to come back for, other than another flight!

Regards Maria and Michael Bayfield - Sydney.

A rare sunny day in our Dunedin weekend this time of year, an excellent chopper ride under taken to get aerial views of Dunedin City and shoreline.
Highland Helicopter owners Kirsty and Paul from first meeting and impressions couldn't have been warmer.
Arrived in tow with family including our two young grandchildren 2.5 yrs and 6yrs who have never been on a helicopter.
After Paul's (pilot) safety briefing (with a little pilot humour) and Kirstys assistance we all hopped aboard their pretty flash Jet Ranger.
Within two minutes of having the Helo prepped for take off, You know your in good pilot hands when as a passenger in the front seat the pilot gives you a check sheet to hold whilst he sets the 'bells and whistles' on the instrument panel we were airborne and off.
The views all round were fantastic as it was all clear from North to South along the Dunedin Coast line clear visibility to the South (Nugget Point) and beyond. To the North towards( Moeraki) clear visibility for miles.
To our front from the cockpit far far away in the distance you could see the magnificent Tapanui mountain range capped in snow, just awesome.
The flight time was about 10-15 minutes .
Hadn't been in a helicopter since my military days and this was a buzz again.
Paul (pilot) who knows his stuff flew conservatively to make the trip last to be fulfilling.
The whole family (4 adults and two children) thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was something well worth doing for a 'what to do in Dunedin City' and I would more than highly recommend Highland Helicopters for one wishing to see the sights of the city from another perspective. If you'd like to the same, then contact Kirsty and Paul of Highland Helicopters.
Also their business is for commercial and contract aerial work, so give them a call if you need their services.
Cheers Highland Helicopters great day for a flight
Bruce Figgins.

Paul and Kirsty were genuine and friendly hosts. We had two days of perfect flying conditions with stunning views.
This trip gave us family memories that will last a life time.

The Bell 206L-1 LongRanger was comfortable and allowed us to relax and just take in the view.

Thank you Highland Helicopters we wouldn’t hesitate to use you again and highly recommend the awesome service you provide!
