A great way to fill in a couple of hours. We got the $30 pass for the kids which included bowling, laser tag, gaming room and a 10 dollar cafe voucher. Great value. Recommend booking though, it's a very busy place! Will be back.

I hadnt been here since it had been done up and wow it looks amazing. The lady at the counter was really helpful and patient with my silly questions. Kids had a blast as did the adults. Will def come back again!!

We enjoyed a couple hours of family fun here. We played one game of ten pin bowling, then played on the arcade games. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staff members apart from one are super nice. I think she was the ‘Duty Manager’ - RUDE AF, she needs an attitude check.
A bunch of friends and I were there today and was treated like crap by I think her name was Sylvia. One of my friends booked for 12 people 3 days ago and when we got there we were only given 1 lane for 6 people. There was a misunderstanding which is partly a fault of ours which we’ve acknowledged but, this staff member has the audacity to treat paying customers badly. They had used the excuse of that was how they spoke and because it was loud in there. I can understand that it was loud in there but you can speak to a customer in a loud voice without sounding condescending and rude.
She then proceeds to say ‘look, I hook ‘you guys’ up a lot’ which I didn’t understand and she proceeded to speak about helping ‘us’ a lot then I clicked that she was referring to our nationalities. Which is irrelevant and inappropriate.
She has apparently worked or have been doing what she was doing for 15 years - which again is irrelevant but thanks for sharing, and I am surprised that she has lasted that long.
She did NOT make us feel welcome, purposefully singled us out, embarrassed us and spoke to us like we were loitering there. Disappointing.

The decor is a bit tired and the lanes seem to malfunction a bit but if you are just playing for fun it isn’t a big problem. We payed for a package deal with 2 games and Food platters. The food was tasty and staff are friendly and pleasant. Overall was a fun way to kill a couple of hours.

Came here for the $15 for 3 games special after 6 on a Sunday night, was lots of fun and we will be back soon!!! Also played the arcade games and won a unicorn teddy!!!

Looking for an hour or so of entertainment. Tossing up between mini golf or bowling. So glad we chose bowling. Thought Saturday afternoon might be busy with kids birthday parties, and it was, but not horribly so, and we didn’t have to wait for a lane. Very nice staff, very clean facilities and a high tech bowling experience. Note. If you wear your own white soles shoes you don’t have to borrow shoes.

Make sure you CALL AHEAD and enquire about how busy they are to avoid disappointment. There are often busy periods/bowling club nights here which leave few lanes open to the public. It is frustrating to only be given the option purchase one round for an extortionist price rather than two for better value. Every business seeks profits, but AMF appears to be placing this ahead of it's customers which is unsatisfactory.
The lack of bowling places in Christchurch means Garden City bowling has minimal competition and can get by with average customer service and no noticeable improvements in the past decade.
Continues to sell the typical hot dog and chip food types, recommend eating beforehand.
Would like to see some change before returning again.

impersonal touch and lack of organisation (or caring) involved in our event booking and the event night itself
I recently organised a social event for 25 people to enjoy their Classic Package at the Christchurch Iverson Terrace Bowling location
In brief, I emailed them TWICE - 13 fully explained complaints but got no reply.
Then I posted a review on their facebook site - https://www.facebook.com/pages/AMF-Garden-City-Bowling/110160155723847?sk=reviews - look under recent or *1 ratings.
Then I finally received an email response.
Unfortunately, their response lacked any thing worth reading
This is a severe case of bad service, unfortunately a 4 hour drive to the closest alternative bowling alley is not convenient, I sure hope they come through with improvements next year!!!
