Arrived at the cinema to buy our tickets and snacks just after 8pm for the movie Dune. I had put the booking under my full name, Patricia 🤦 and the lovely cashier remembered talking to me on the phone.
Earlier, we talked about my partner and I going for dinner at Little High and then we'd come across the road to the cinema. She said to enjoy our dinner and that she'd see us later on.
I hope you and your co-worker enjoyed the giggles as much as we did! Thank you (my apologies for forgetting your name) for an engaging conversation and a brilliant end to the night.

Great city centre cinema with a fantastic DVD rental choice to be envied the world over!

Odd or eclectic or eccentric is my description of the service when we ordered 4 coffees just before the film start. The film started and each coffee was delivered at 5 minute intervals to us in our seats. Nice enough coffee, but a little bit distracting. But it fits the place well, small, eclectic and slightly eccentric.

Great place!

They have a great selection for movies on rental and also the ones they show in their own cinema. Fantastic little place.

Super cinema - nice that this Art Deco building survived the quake. We were in the Egyptian Theatre - only about 35 seats - very good quality seats and screen.
Had a coffee from the little kiosk and pursued the enormous library of dvds (25000) that are available. Grand night

Went to see Murder on the Orient Express and was not disappointed. The theater is very clean and neat and also comfortable and cozy. We had a disabled person in a scooter and t was so easy to just drive right into the theatre and get a seat for her. Excellent place to see a movie. We highly recommend it!

A great experience with excellent service. Both a video store and two boutique movie theatres. We patronised the Egyptian themed theatre today and were impressed. $15 for an adult ticket. Toilets look to be in process of upgrade which looks timely. A different class of movie and clientele meant a focused and enjoyable experience. Comfortable seats.

The classic cinema décor in this boutique theatre is fabulous! It's all Egypt and turquoise and Pharoah's gold. There is a great offering of classic, retro and non mainstream new releases in this dear little theatre adjoining the iconic Alice In Videoland and a step away from the fabulous and equally quirky C1 café.

The only downside and not one that Alice's can help, is that it's right in the middle of the horrendously complicated High St rebuild. So it's rather a poignant reminder of the ghastly time of the earthquakes, which always rather tarnishes my gleeful anticipation of a movie. Heigh Ho! What can you do?

As city dwellers, we often go to this theatre. The location is perfect, within walking distance. The films on offer are great. Lovely to pop next door for a coffee as well. Fantastic to still have a movie theatre so close in the city area, for locals and tourists.
