Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have the Knox surname (from Ayrshire, Scotland) in my family tree. Just had to stop and take a photo. I don't know anything about the church barring what is in the reviews.

This church is an earthquake success story. Old on the inside, new on the outside and has fully embraced making itself available for cultural events.

There has even been an attempt made to make pews more comfortable, which I appreciate.

Within the four avenues (just) and within walking distance of city centre and Papanui Road motels/hotels this is a great place to take in a concert.

My one suggestion is that they let people know what is on, with contact details, rather than just working as a venue for hire.

I am sure that the new building is just was suitable for worship but its not the beautiful stone church proudly marking the entry to Victoria street that it was before the quakes.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the new 'rebuilt' Knox Church! I only saw it from the out-side, but it looks fantastic! I remember the previous building, (before the big quake, and in it's damaged state, not long after the quake!). A great job on the rebuild.

Recently awarded for it's clever rebuild linking heritage with light and modern. Plus a stunning organ.

On my birthday my first stop was to Knox Church for their Sunday service as they had just reopened after extensive repair works. I was drawn by the music as I heard their newly fixed organ now has a young organist who I wanted to hear. It was the highlight of my trip. The music and more. The sermons the people the energetic spirit of Christchurch people. We were invited in for morning tea after the service and meet the most lovely bunch of people (and the organist, Daniel cooper) if I lived in Christchurch I would be a regular.
