Recovered nicely

I hadn't been through in quite a while but it in back to it's former splendor with lots of quirky places to grab a bite to eat and coffee shops galore.

Lovely little street full of bespoke shops and coffee shops with outdoor seating. The tram runs straight down the street which adds an extra touch of excitement. We just had to stop and have a couple of flat whites - its the thing to do.

Old Victorian narrow street with small shops either side. The trams travel along it. Good place to take photos

... which have survived the devastation around them. It is a short street with multicoloured terraced buildings down either side. They have been well looked after and the shops offer a range of offerings, cafes, gifts, etc. It was absolutely dead when we were visiting as i have the feeling that people are avoiding the mess in the centre.

Had we not been on the hop on, hop off tram we would not have found this magical place. The upper buildings are painted in different colours and either side of the road reflects the other. It was buzzing the day we were there and was perfect for a sit down with a cooling ice cream.

New Regent street is definitely worth a visit - lot's of options for a coffee/tea or a drink. Several restaurants and a very busy ice cream shop.

Reconstructed and designed so that either side of the road mirrors the other in design and colour. Also a popular place for evening dining and shopping.

This street was devastated during the Christchurch earthquake, but it has been rebuilt. It has a air of a bygone era. It has a large range of bars, restaurants and shops, and is great fun to walk down while you decide where to have that meal or drink!

Lovely little street comprising mostly cafes with outdoor seating . The street looks to have been restored and painted in pastel colours. The street is pedestrian only but trams also stop down here so care needs to be taken as they are fairly frequent. Definitely worth a visit.
