This is a beautiful street - a trip dow memory lane with buildings all from one era and all with hip restaurants, cafes and shops. Definitely a place to spend time and money!

While a few buildings appear to be undergoing earthquake repairs, it's wonderful that most of the street is intact, still beautiful and offering a range of eating, drinking and shopping pleasures. Conveniently, just around the corner is The Piano, a music performance centre.

We found this by accident on our way to the bus station. We had a lovely breakfast and there are lots of lovey wee tourist shops. The tram goes down the middle of the street. Good phot spot
