We stopped off for a morning coffee, enjoyed devonshire tea sitting in the sun watching the ducks and children playing on the lawn. Coffee and teas good, scones excellent

Always love coming for a stroll. The lily pond, the rose garden, it's all beautiful. Today we went to the homestead for the first time to have a coffee. It was really nice.

Very disappointing visit to Mona Vale today. Booked for high tea to celebrate two family birthdays.waited over half an hour for drinks then over an hour for meals. Staff knew we were coming for High tea Most of food on plates would have be prepared well before we arrived and shouldn’t have taken this time to plate up. Five children with us hungry having to wait until after two to have lunch.Their high tea plates came with individual pots of tea ( children aged between five and twelve do not want a pot of tea each) We had to pay extra for soft drink for them. Staff lovely and friendly but service shocking Mona Vale so lovely but will be a long time before we return

Beautiful home now operating as a cafe and function venue. Wonderful grounds by the river. Picnic areas and plenty of parking

After the earthquake it took 5 years to rebuild the building. To be honest, they did the most incredible job to make it look original with the pressed metal ceilings and the carved wooden stair case. I think due to Covid19 it's only open for functions

They he the best buttermilk scones around! We usually get there just after 9am when they are fresh out of the oven - highly recommended.

Stunning gardens and a property that has the Avon river as one of its borders. Mona Vale gardens exceeded expectations. The grounds are easy to walk around and has many pathways and garden sections. The rose garden and fernery were favourites. A gorgeous bridge over the river is lovely to sit beside to watch the birdlife. I can see why it is popular as a wedding reception location. We enjoyed a delicious Devonshire tea in the grounds of the homestead where the cafe/restaurant is. Lovely afternoon, would recomend a visit while in Christchurch.

Our enjoyable Sunday lunch far exceeded our expectations with food beautifully cooked & presented, servings were more than generous & "doggy bags" were required. The restaurant setting is lovely with attractive views over the gardens. Definitely recommend a visit

This is beautiful and I spent a long time enjoying the ambience along Mona Vale- The historic house is amazing and if inclined you can have coffee or a meal there but you can look around the house and take a picnic nearby so you can just enjoy being there for no cost. Apparently sometimes in the weekends music is played on the grounds which would add to the experience but as we went during the week we were captivated by the beautiful gardens the lovelys steam and the lovely houses overlooking the park.

We spent a pleasant afternoon walking the paths of Mona Vale Gardens during our recent visit to Christchurch.Situated along the banks of a pleasant little river winding it's way through the property, the Mona Vale Gardens are home to many beatifully laid out and landscaped garden areas.. Although the Rose Garden section was our favorite, section, all of the plants, shrubs, and trees were lovely. Most were tagged and labeled for identification. The paths artistically wound around the garden. A small dock was available in the river for those wanting to go punting along the river through the gardens.
