This war memorial was damaged in the 2011 earthquake. It has been restored and now is looking good. It is a fitting memorial to remember those who sacrificed their lives for us. A recent addition is the Maori woven mat "Remembering Our Fallen in Battle".

A great photo op and an iconic memorial to those who fought for New Zealand. Easy to fit in while on the tram or checking out other attractions in the city centre.

This seems to be one of those locations where everyone takes photos of themselves. So why don’t you too? Central location en route to wandering around the city centre, so worth a quick look on your way somewhere else.

This is very picturesque. I am not a huge fan of military memorials, but this one is nicely done, and covers many conflicts.

Another example of some things that have been improved because of the earthquake. This is a work of art and great recognition for our brave people from our past.

Lovely old bridge with arch of remembrance. It was well worth the walk along the riverside to see it.

Visited on Tuesday 22nd May. What a great structure sitting proudly in the centre of Christchurch. While walking around we passed this way a few times during the day.

We were just amazed at the amount of building required in Christchurch since the last big earthquake. Everywhere you go there are remnants of buildings that have been destroyed and a lot being rebuilt. Beautiful new buildings which, no doubt in time, will make Christchurch...More
