You can catch the ferry from Lyttleton $10 return. Ferries run on the hour to and from. When you arrive at Diamond Harbour via ferry there is average hill walk up to the Village, there are walks you can do in this area if feeling...More

It takes sometime to reach this harbour but is worthed: secluded haven with beautiful views over the river, the Lyttleton village and the surrounding forests.

An interesting drive and beautiful scenery of a special series of places. Thoroughly enjoyable natural splendour.

Visited on Wednesday 23rd May. One of the many places to stop and have a look at the harbour whilst driving between Lyttelton and Governor's Bay.

Best to go on a Sunny day if possible. Lovely spot, ferry ride very quick but maybe a bit overpriced. Decent walk to the top where you can have a bit to eat and a bevvy. Great little spot

Well worth the drive out from Christchurch or get the ferry from Lyttleton. Purau, just a little further on offers a peaceful relaxing place to picnic and swim.

We lived at Diamond Harbour for 3 years a while back, and most days we drove the long and winding road of 220 corners to ChCh. So it was a trip down memory lane to return with our adult daughter, son in law and grandsons....More

Although there are winding roads or a boat ride across a bay to get there, it's worth taking the time. There are a few walking tracks that start there, places to eat and historic places like the Stoddart Cottage to visit.
