A must visit!

It is a little sad to see the surroundings from the EQ aftermath but with the colorful containers as shops and cafes, it makes the place more cheerful. Fantastic job!

I was extremely impressed with the new Re-start Mall, have not been to Cashel street since we moved back to Australia in 2010, and the old Cashel mall is etched into my memory. I am very impressed with the ingenuity and recommend the Re-start Mall to tourists for some retail therapy. I just wish I was there now to see... More

After the earthquakes that Christchurch has experienced they are starting to get back on their feet- great wander around the town where you are able to see a lot of the devastation that the earthquake caused- actually it was hard to put together thte Christchurch I knew from previous visits with what I saw but the people seem very positive... Cashel Street is a great place to visit in Christchurch and an insight into the rebuild of this devastated city.

This is excellent! They have done a great job here and it is good to see a bit of the city up and running again. It was really busy the day we were there.

In typical kiwi fashion, the Cashel St container mall has prevailed in the most hostile of circumstances. With funky, buzzing cafe's, latest designer stores and buskers lining the broken streets, this temporary street mall seems to have it all. Lacking in affordable, everyday shopping for the you and me people, you will find that the Cashel St mall is busy... More

CHCH is my home town and Cashel Street mall was terribly effected after the CHCH earthquakes and it is amazing to see what they have done fitting out and setting up all of the shipping containers as funky retail shops, eateries and cafes. Great to see one of our favorite shops, Ballentynes is back up and running. Go Christchurch we... More
