Having suffered structural damage during the earthquakes, this magnificent building is currently undergoing restoration and rebuilding works by the city council. Plenty of information on the hoarding around the site to let you know the progress to date.

Normally this is an interesting place to visit. However since the earthquakes it is closed due to structural damage which it is estimated will cost some 175 million dollars to repair.
