This is not a large art gallery but it has a bit of everything - old and new. Sadly not much was to my taste in the main galleries. The exterior of the building attracted me and I guess I was expecting more on the...More

Nice restaurant but staff lacking. When you expect to go to a great location staff are super important. This new restaurant needs to educate its staff. Check out the opposition across the road. The prices and food are similar but the experience is lacking. Barman...More

Great place to spend a few hours, then have a coffe at the cafe. Great location and the architecture was stunning.

This stunning, modern, purpose built building is a wonderful place to display and view art. We saw exhibitions from Bridget Riley (where space and lighting enhanced the experience). A Len Lye exhibition included sound. Also on display were Lindauer and Goldie. Something for everyone.

Loved this museum, it was incredible, films, sculptures and paintings, activities for children as well.

There was some very nice Maori portraits that I liked but the special exhibitions focussed on very modern art which though very interesting did not have a lot of appeal to me.

Bottom line up front, it's free... The best exhibit they currently have is the fountains. I wasn't too impressed by the other exhibit, but it's was a very nice afternoon and Fiddlesticks (Awesome restuarant) is across the street.

Hubby and I stumbled in here after a long day of walking the town center and visiting other sites. Museum was located about 15 min. by foot from the Amross Motor Lodge where we were residing for four days. Big, airy venue with magnificant lighting....More
