Fantastic Attraction
Oct 2017 • Family
We went to the Open Day with 6 year old son and friend. The collection and display of vintage farm machinery was great! The ride on the "Thomas" tractor was good fun and the pioneer cottage very interesting. All the staff we encountered were fantastic - talking to us, explaining and showing things to the children, and letting them have a go as appropriate. We also visited the Woodturners Guild who also spent time talking to the children and we got a demonstration of how to turn a rectangular block into a wig stand on the lathe - my son found this particularly fascinating.
A great event - highly recommended!

Wonderful Collection in urgent need of promotion and marketing
Jan 2016 • Couples
This is a little gem but you will be lucky to stumble on it because the volunteers who run it have no marketing or presentation expertise although plenty of knowledge and enthusiasm. It cries out for help from an entrepreneur or the local council. It could be like Ironbridge Museum in England instead the sheds reveal piles of a rusty gold in the form of the biggest collection of rare tractors you will ever see and some lovely old buildings rescued from various settings.

This is in Blenheim, Marlborough, not Christchurch - :)

Wonderful little museum in Brayshaw Park, surrounded by all things heritage which tell the story of Marlborough.

Outside, there are vintage cars, vintage machinery, and Beavertown, the replica street scene.

Take a ride on the two foot gauge railway which runs from the Brayshaw Heritage Park Station and follows the Taylor River to Beaver Station at Riverside Park, downtown Blenheim. Round trip takes an hour. Kids and adults love this ride.
