Review of: Christchurch Gondola Ride Ticket
We didn't pre-book as we were unsure which day we would come. We arrived around 1.30pm on the friday before their long weekend and it wasn't very busy. We are a family of 4 and we found the family combo tickets to be worth while. We ended up getting the gondola and punting family combo. You do not have to do both activities on the same day. The gondola rides are around 6 mins each way. At the top of the mountain, there are deck views as well as walk out views. The views are stunning even on a winter's day. My camera was not good enough to capture what my eyes could see. The cafe is a nice place to rest your feet if you went for a bit of a walk around. Staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. It was a pity that the Time Tunnel has closed.…

Although not super cheap, you can hop on and off at various places along the way. Great commentary, relaxing way to see the city.

Did this as a solo traveler. The train car itself is 1920’s era, very well maintained, and beautiful. The meal was good, but understand that they are serving the entire train at the same time, on a single tram car. The meals would have to be prepared in advance so if you go expecting Michelin-rated food, you’re headed for disappointment. I had the Monkfish, the portion was quite large and it was tasty. Overall, the experience was 2.5 hr. I don’t think I’d do it again, but it was worth doing once for sure!…

Review of: Christchurch Gondola Ride Ticket
The view was amazing. Most of the staff were friendly but unfortunately, there was no te reo Māori spoken by them to greet or farewell the visitors. We were deeply saddened by the very one-sided "history tunnel" experience. The focus was on the European settlers with little mention of the mana whenua (the indigenous people who occupied the land for hundreds of years prior to colonisation). Such a rich and important history ignored is beyond disappointing. It's negligent. This is supposed to be a tourist attraction however people from overseas are not getting true and correct information from this experience. The end video about "famous" people from this area showed many European people. Where is the Ngāi Tahu representation? I went away feeling saddened and bewildered that in 2022 such a European centred experience still exists in Ōtautahi Christchurch.…

Review of: Christchurch Hop-On Hop-Off Tram
The Hop On Hop Off option is a good way to see places and things of interest in a day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Do a loop (50 minutes) and then pick the places of interest.
