We took the tram ride through the park and were so impressed by all that we saw. A definite keeper with all the beautiful plants in bloom, the varied trees and all the people using the park for a variety of reasons. There was even a brass band concert going on at the time. Really enjoyed ourselves.

After walking round the broken city, it was a nice happy colourful place to come and rest and enjoy the sunshine and birds singing. It was nice and relaxing sitting by the Peacock Fountain. In the summer, the perfect place to visit is the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. There are many different parts of the gardens.Always a good time! The flowers... More

These gardens are exquisite and presented beautifully. Obviously lots of work to maintain. Fantastic walking paths and cafe/gift shop. Sculptures to view and the river to cruise down. A gem in the middle of the city. ❤️️

Thanks to a tour conducted by the Friends of the Gardens this was a thoroughly interesting and informative visit. The lady who took our small group was very knowledgeable and clearly had a great love of these beautiful gardens. We learnt and enjoyed the many magnificent trees, the native NZ section, the herb and vegetable garden and the beautiful ferns.... More

I love this place. We try to get into Christchurch to see the Botanic Gardens every time we get to New Zealand. They are downtown, surrounded by park area, and FREE. The trees alone are worth the time spent here. They have huge trees from all over the world. They also have rose gardens and lots of other flower gardens,... More

I did the botanic gardens tour with my disabled friend. Faye was our driver and obviously loved the gardens and telling others about them, making it extremely enjoyable.

The botanical gardens makes a beautiful, relaxing wander through lovely gardens, filled with amazing trees and shrubs. There is loads of room to play on the grassy areas or watch the antics of the ducks. Take time to relax with a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate and enjoy the sunshine.

Faye, our driver and a font of information, brought the gardens alive, pointing out trees and shrubs of interest and bringing enthusiasm to her presentation. The autumn hues made the visit pleasant and interesting. Worth a look if you enjoy gardens, roses and an easy way to view the whole garden.

Absolutely loved the botanical gardens, it's such a big, peaceful place. There is so much construction and noise in the city at the moment but in the gardens you would have no idea what's going on
