We are locals and unfortunately decided to go this during the school holidays. It was insanely busy because they had a holiday programme running. There were kids running around everywhere. We went early and timed it right for the shows, when one finished another started....More

Our young children were bored while dad was having a detailed history lesson. Penguins were lively, and the 4d movie (the kids one) was a good leg break. The Haagland buggy trip was the highlight. Staff were pleasant and the venue well presented.

The Antarctic Centre is fun, but wow is it looking pretty dated. We got in as ChCh residents and so got a discount which was good because I'd have been a bit disgruntled if I'd paid full price.

Had a great day out with my friends here. Really friendly and super helpful staff, and lots of fun interactive things to do. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The free ride to get there and back into the cbd made it an even bigger pull!...More

This place had plenty of interactive attractions all of which the four of us thoroughly enjoyed. We even used the free shuttle that took you to the centre of town and back. The driver, Graham, was very personable and knowledgeable.

Sorry, I didn't do that part of the tour as I've often seen penguins nearer home. However, penguins are such delightful creatures I recommend you make time to visit them.
