Craig picked us up at our hotel and from start to finish he customized our tour to meet our wishes. We drove to Arthur's Pass where we were served a delightful picnic with views of the mountains. Along the way ther and back, he answered a thousand questions about flora, fauna, history, geology, you name it. After our return to Christchurch, he gave us a quick tour of the CBD, including the heartbreaking Christchurch Cathedral damaged during the earthquake. Craig goes out of his way to make your tour something you will always remember. You can't go wrong!

We had an absolutely amazing day with Craig while visiting on a cruise stop. Craig had contacted us a number of times prior to our arrival to help us plan a very full day. He picked us up from the dock and we headed to Arthur's Pass National Park. We stopped along the way along a meadow to had Craigs homemade scones, jam and tea. We toured the National Park which was breathtaking! Craig made us a picnic lunch that was to die for!! Everything homemade. He even fresh cooked asparagus from his garden. The men in our group are wood workers. On the way back through the valley he surprised us and arranged for a tour of a saw mill! We had a 10 hour tour planned and Craig had us back to the ship right on time!

Thanks so much for your generous words. That was a fabulous day with you all and glad that you enjoyed the picnic lunch as well. Good on the lads at the Sawmill for giving you such a great tiki tour of the mill too. Hope you all have some great memories of your trip to Canterbury. Appreciate you keeping me in a job I love. All the best to you for 2020.

We decided to take the train to Greymouth and collect our hire car there for a drive down the Wild West coast to Wanaka, where we had an apartment for a week.
The train goes through some spectacular country and we could both enjoy all of it from the wide windows. It only takes four hours but it was a terrific way to travel. The road doesn’t quite follow the track so we got unique views that we wouldn’t have by driving. The cafe car was great - really good coffee and fresh delicious food. Our fellow passengers even had beer and wine. The stop at Arthur’s Pass is great. And the on board commentary is really interesting. This is a must do in our book.
Also hiring. Car in Greymouth is easy as all the car hire places are in the train station and we had time to head north to Pancake Rocks - have a late lunch and a walk before driving back to Greymouth and having a look around.

We are currently on our first trip to New Zealand celebrating our 40th anniversary. Upon high recommendations from friends, we booked Craig for the day. He met us in Akaroa where our ship was docked. What a delightful man! He is very knowledgable about New Zealand and the area we were touring. We had a wonderful picnic lunch, overlooking stunning scenery, which included Craig's homemade bread & greens from his garden. Truly a day in Akaroa, Pigeon Bay, & Christchurch that we will never forget largely due to the great care & hospitality of Craig Rome!

Good on you for following up on your predecessors and giving me an amazing visit to Craigforth and learning so much more about the early history of Banks Peninsula and Pigeon Bay. The weather certainly does help and what fantastic vista s we could enjoy. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to write such a generous review. What a great day for me too.

Good on you for putting up such a kind review on my tour. That was just an incredible day and when I can combine the asparagus from my garden and the fresh salmon from Mt Cook and enjoy it beside those fantastic aqua marine blue colour of Pukaki..Its as good as it gets. Usually the wind can be so strong and yet 15 kms away from the strong winds of Lake Tasman Pukaki was like a mill pond..

We just completed a tour to Arthur's Pass today. I would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone who wants to sit back, relax, and enjoy the best of NZ's wonderful nature. The organisation of the tour was perfect: Craig tweaked the schedule slightly to suit the weather of the day. Craig is extremely knowledgeable. He tailored our trip to include walking trails and photo taking at nice spots. Never a dull moment in the tour, and you're in safe hands by joining the tour.

Thank you so much. For sure there is a higher risk with Winter weather but without doubt the photos in winters are far superior. Have a good trip home and do come again when our city is further along the recovery road.

We have recently returned from a trip to New Zealand, Australia and Bali. As we were a group of 10, a private tour was the only way to travel. We hit the jackpot when we choose Craig Rome as our tour guide. Craig picked us up at the pier in Akaroa. We travelled through the countryside stopping along the way for those perfect photo opportunities, beautiful scenery, a cheese factory, Christchurch and to top it all off, Craig surprised us with a fabulous picnic. Craig's knowledge of the area and his enthusiasm and energy was amazing. During our 30 days, and a number of private tours, Craig Rome was by far the best tour guide of our trip. You won't be disappointed if you choose Craig and cannz@canzelandtours.com.

I recently returned from a fabulous trip to New Zealand and can’t say enough good things about our tour guide J. Craig Rome with CanNZTours (cannz@cannewzealandtours.com/en)
Craig was so knowledgeable about New Zealand and will design a special tour just for you.
He went out of his way taking us anywhere we wanted to go and he stopped the car when he spotted an ice cream place so we could try the hokey pokey ice cream we had read about.
I felt compelled to share our good fortune in finding Craig-a real jewel!

Thank you also Jo for keeping me in a job I love. I m currently over in London helping my brother nurse his sick wife and whilst its an exciting city to be in and nice to have a bit of early Summer instead of our Winter... I m so homesick for New Zealand. That was a great day and so enjoyed meeting you all...... except for when we nearly lost someone between the Cathedral and Museum....!!!! Say hi to the rest of your travelling party in Canada from me. Cheers Craig
