What an incredibly library! It is so impressive with its new architecture and design. It really is quite breath taking.

It almost doesn’t feel like a library when you walk in.

Apart from the books it does offer a lot of other things, a conference room (have been to kids music shows and baby music classes in there), a lovely café downstairs, a coffee shop upstairs, a Playstation area, an amazing kids play area with lego pits, dress up house and slide.

A wonderful place to go for kids, especially on a rainy day. Only thing is that it opens at 10am and parking can be a bit of a challenge.

This is an amazing library. It is so spacious and beautifully designed. I was impressed by the various activities available for children such as massive quantities of Duplo and Lego. We were fortunate to be told about the balconies on the fifth floor overlooking the cathedral. A most wonderful library.

Library is definitely a must see in Christchurch. From the interactive wall, to exploring all the levels, this is great to drop by or to attend an event.

The design is so pleasing to the eyes, very user friendly, with latest books on a variety of subjects on display. The staff go out of their way to help you find the book you are looking for. Best place to induce children love of books.

My friend and I fell in love with this library. We are both teachers and book lovers so imagine our excitement when we visited here. We were even given an extensive history of the library by some very friendly librarians. Definitely a place to take the kids. Their area was amazing and the Hogwarts inspired staircase pure magic. There is something for all ages in this very modern place. Don't miss out!

Great central library. The building is packed with technology. Definitely a good investment of taxpayer's money.

Turanga is the state of the Art Library in Cathedral Square in the heart of the City Centre which has architectural interest with significant cultural relevance.

Folks have talked about this amazing space since its opening and we can understand why. A beautiful asset for the city with plenty of open spaces and tranquil colour scheme. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and a credit to the institution.

A great space and pleasure to be in.
Welcoming and peaceful (as you'd expect a library to be).
They have created an iconic building and space for the city of Christchurch for now and well into the future.

Christchurch used to have a wonderful, if old-fashioned children's library. This new building is testament to what imaginative structures and spaces can be created when you have to start afresh. Think Hogwarts stair cases, balcony gardens and lots of nooks and crannies where you can hide away and read.

The cafe downstairs does a great hot chocolate which you'll need if it's as cold and rainy outside as it was on our 'summer' visit.
