This was an awesome was to transfer from Christchurch to Mt Cook. A lot of scenic stops on the way, good recommendations on local hiking routes, and drop off at your accommodation.
Our driver/guide was very easy going and friendly, and gave a lot of insight to the surrounding area.

Lunch was provided on top of snacks and drinks which catered well for dietary requirements.

I'd recommend!

Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, the one-way tour to Mount Cook from Christchurch was still an incredible experience. The journey itself was scenic and enjoyable, and our guide Diane did their best to keep our spirits high despite the clouds. I can only imagine how breathtaking it must be on a clear day. I'll definitely be back for another attempt keeping an eye on the forecast.

I will pass this lovely feedback onto the driver. Please get in touch when you book again! we would love to help. All the best.

Overall, it was a good experience. We were picked up at our hotel a bit earlier than expected, but we were ready to go. Our guide was Tony and Diana. We were given our snack. We had our stretch break in Geraldine, and then we stopped at Fairlie for our coffee break. We then were given our sandwich for our lunch. The weather was not cooperating. It was raining a bit when we reached Lake Tekapo. However, the view of the Southern alps was wonderful. The second stretch break was at Lake Pukaki. We then went on to the base of Mount Cook. By that time, the rain was getting heavier, and the wind gust was so strong. Our van swayed because of the strong gusts, so Tony slowed down. We saw many waterfalls coming down from the mountain. We got to the information center and stayed a bit. Tony offered us if we wanted to walk to Abel Tasman glacier. However, we decided not to because of the weather. Then we went to Heritage Hotel and some passengers were dropped off at the hotel. Some passengers from Cheeky Kiwi were picked up as well because the wiper of their van was gone due to the wind. After lunch, we started to head back to Christchurch. On the way back, we saw a van down because of the strong wind. Our van stopped to see if they needed help. We waited a bit and then drove on toward Christchurch. Although we couldn't see Mount Cook due to the weather, we were safely back at Christchurch. Thank you Tony and Diana!

We did bespoke custom tour with Cheeky Kea from Queenstown to Mount Cook. Our tour was three days long with teo night stay in Twizel.

The tour was easily the best experience of our New Zealand trip. The guide/deiver we got (named Will) was the best person we met on this trip. Will knew so much about everything. He kept talking to us about the landscape and flora and fauna along the way. He got us to Mt Cook air strip in time for our helicopter ride. He knew the place like the back of his hand. He drove us back to the Twizel town for us to pickup dinner. When he dropped us back at our Airbnb accomodation, he gave us a quick run down of the constellations and the stars we could see in the sky from the dimly lit town of Twizel.

The next day he was there to take us back to Mount Cook village for a trek. We were thinking about Hooker Valley but he helped us choose a better trail and after having a nice view of the glacier, we walked down to it. He got into that melting ice and got a chunk of 600 years old ice for us to have a bite of it :) We are glad we changed our plans and took his suggestion.

On our way back to Queenstown, we did a little detour to Wanaka town and from Wanaka to Queenstown Will chose the most picturesque roads that I have ever been to.

We were very apprehensive of Cheeky Kea when we were booking initially but I must say that they are best tour company that we could have asked for. Will ofcourse was great, but the company ensured that he is well rested before picking us up. He drove from Christchurch a day before and stayed a night in Queenstown.

The quote we got from them was quite competitive and we did not feel a need to negotiate.

I am sure their group tours are as good and popular, we saw a few Cheeky Kea buses on the road and near Mt Cook. But if you want to plan something specific and tailor made, Cheeky Kea won't disappoint you. We had an 18 months old with us and there is absolutely nothing that I can complain about.

Thanks Jesse and Will!

We absolutely loved our trip to Mt.Cook. The start was a bit complicated as our van broke down in the morning, but it was quickly sorted out by our tour guide / driver. (Unfortunately
I don't remeber his name - William, maybe?) Everyone got a complimentary coffee while we were waiting for a replacement van and we were offered a full refund, if we did not want to continue. Everyone was fine with the delay and off we went. The scenery on the way to Mt. Cook was breathtaking, we loved every minute of the drive. Our guide was really cool, friendly, knowledgeable, and he had a lot of interesting stories to share. We also got a really delicous lunch, snacks and a bottle of water. The hike to Mt. Cook and the mountain itself were absolutely stunning. The cherry on the top was star gazing on the way back to Christchurch. All in all, it was a great day. We even didn't mind the delay as it gave us the opportunity to see the Southern Cross. :)

My brother and I absolutely LOVED every minute of our day tour with Brent, he went above and beyond to ensure we were running on time as we had passengers who didn’t show up to the pick up point. We ended up being the only two that were on the tour to Mt Cook National park, this suited us amazingly as we got the ‘personal touch’ having Brent and his wealth of knowledge re the surrounding area all to ourselves! The national park had been covered in a blanket of snow over night, and we arrived to bright blue clear skies with not a cloud in sight. We were able to complete the entire Hooker Valley track, which was just breath taking. Although the journey in the mini bus is long, I would do it all over again in a heart beat. Brent was attentive to the road and drove very safely, if I ever book again I hope Brent is the driver 😎 10/10 for the kiwi classics provided on board (Spring water, L&P, Whittakers choc and Copper kettles) plus all the kai (food) from Fairlie bake house! The lunch provided was far more than expected, we took it with us to Hooker Lake and ate it over looking the glaciers floating around (the lake was even frozen over!) 😍 Ngā mihi nui team from two Hauraki Māori who appreciated the little touches made, to protect our taio while showcasing the best parts of our country.

It was a fantastic trip! Our original trip had been canceled by some accident, but they responded to it very quickly and then gave us a satisfactory solution, which is truly amazing.
The tour itself was great, everyone enjoyed it including my little one. Our guide is very nice and interesting, he introduced a lot of funny facts on the way. At a point, we would like to finish the Mt Cook visit earlier, and my little one needed to go to the toilet again as she could not hold her pee when we just left the rest spot, our guide tried his best to look after everyone's needs. We greatly appreciate that.
The view is lovely, the food is good too.
