Overall, it was a good experience. We were picked up at our hotel a bit earlier than expected, but we were ready to go. Our guide was Tony and Diana. We were given our snack. We had our stretch break in Geraldine, and then we stopped at Fairlie for our coffee break. We then were given our sandwich for our lunch. The weather was not cooperating. It was raining a bit when we reached Lake Tekapo. However, the view of the Southern alps was wonderful. The second stretch break was at Lake Pukaki. We then went on to the base of Mount Cook. By that time, the rain was getting heavier, and the wind gust was so strong. Our van swayed because of the strong gusts, so Tony slowed down. We saw many waterfalls coming down from the mountain. We got to the information center and stayed a bit. Tony offered us if we wanted to walk to Abel Tasman glacier. However, we decided not to because of the weather. Then we went to Heritage Hotel and some passengers were dropped off at the hotel. Some passengers from Cheeky Kiwi were picked up as well because the wiper of their van was gone due to the wind. After lunch, we started to head back to Christchurch. On the way back, we saw a van down because of the strong wind. Our van stopped to see if they needed help. We waited a bit and then drove on toward Christchurch. Although we couldn't see Mount Cook due to the weather, we were safely back at Christchurch. Thank you Tony and Diana!
