While it's still very clear to see that Cathedral Square remains representative of the profound destruction of our city, it's heartwarming to get a glimmer of hope and restoration. Turanga, our new Public Library has now opened beside the Cathedral. It's an fairly unprepossessing building...More

Finally got to see famous cathedral that was destroyed by EARTH quake just a few years ago. Some parts Christchurch city is in redeveloping. It was cool to walk around the CBD and witness lots of building still being rebuild including this amazing Cathetral.

Cathedral Square marks the centre of the city. It still bears the scars from the devastating earthquake of 2011, but is slowly bouncing back. The new library will help.

Visited on Tuesday 22nd May. Cathedral Square is the most visited part of Christchurch and still bears the scars of the earthquake. I hope to return one day to see Cathedral Square restored to its former glory.

Christchurch is being rebuilt, but except the cathedral. It is possible to see the broken building today. There is a food market on the weekend too.
