Half Day Wine Tour

Picked me up/ dropped off from my AirBnB which was super handy.
Our host Mike was attentive, personable and very knowledgeable.
Learned a lot and tasted some fantastic wines. I’ll be returning and taking the full day tour next time.
Had a great time.
Highly recommend Hop n Grape.

Fantastic experience!

We had a wonderful tour with Darlene. She was excellent at recommending wines for everyone in our group, and was extremely patient with the toddler in our family. All the wines were delicious, and Darlene did an exceptional job of ensuring we all tried wines we would enjoy! I would recommend hop n grapes tours to anyone who wants to explore the Marlborough region!

Great Experience

A friend and I were travelling from Auckland down to Nelson and Marlborough. It it was the first time visiting the region for both of us. We were recommended Hop n Grape Tours through a friend. We booked a group tour but ended up having a private tour due to no other bookings. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and was happy to answer all our questions. It was a good way to see the wine region. We had a great time and highly recommend Hop n Grape to anyone looking at doing a wine tour in Blenheim.

Fantastic day in wine country

We spent a fantastic day visiting wineries, a brewery, amazing lunch and chocolate factory with Cam and his team on our private shore excursion. He and his team picked us up at the port in a great coach and took us to several wineries in Blenheim and Marlborough area. We had amazing tastings throughout the day. We learned all about New Zealand’s wine industry, the wine making process, life in the area.

Cam made the visit so personal and tailored for our group. We met with winemakers and brew masters at a microbrewery. We had an amazing lunch at Allen Scott winery with a great tasting too.

Visiting wine country in Marlborough New Zealand was one of the highlights of our visit. Hop n Grape made it special.

Excellent wine tour

Excellent wine tour. Philip was a really excellent host, really knowledgeable, told us a lot of detail about the wines, vines, grapes and vineyards and took us to some amazing wineries.

Really good wines to taste in each winery. Good opportunity to listen to the staff talk about their own grape varieties, and wines as we were tasting.

Fantastic day out - highly highly recommend this to other travellers.

A very enjoyable and boozy day

The tour took in five vineyards (one of which included a very pleasant lunch) and a chocolate factory. The cost of the tastings is included in the tour price and we generally had around five wines at each vineyard. Darlene, the tour guide, was interesting and interested as well ensuring no one had to miss out to be the sober driver. There was no hard sell and no feeling that we had to rush - though we had the advantage of there being relatively few tourists. Overall a good day but make sure you have a good breakfast before heading out as you'll need something in your stomach nefore trying all that wine.

Can’t recommend highly enough!

Only ones booked on the tour today but Cam made sure we had a really memorable and truly personalised experience.

As novice tasters we were hoping for some tips, and Cam (an experienced winemaker himself) couldn’t have been a better teacher. We really enjoyed our behind the scenes tour and introduction to the art of wine tasting at Mount Riley, then we headed out to hone our skills at 3 more vineyards. With so many options available, we were happy to be guided by Cam, who made sure that we visited wine makers with different styles and specialisms. Everywhere we went we were welcomed warmly and helped to get the most out of our tastings.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Saint Clair, followed by a visit to their art gallery, and even fitted in a quick stop at the chocolate factory.

It was a real treat to finish the afternoon at the quirky Framingham vineyard. We could happily have spent the rest of the day lazing about on the beanbags in their beautiful courtyard.

We’ve met some wonderful people today, tasted many delicious wines and learned a thing or two on the way. A great day - all thanks to you Cam! Really can’t recommend this highly enough; it’s sure to be a highlight of our trip to NZ.

A must do Marlborough wine tour!

I did the wine tour with my parents while travelling around the South Island. It was such a fantastic day out. We were collected from our accommodation in a lovely, clean bus. Our host for the day introduced himself and talked through the first half of the day and explained that he would tailor the afternoon to our tastes. We learned all about wine production, saw behind the scenes, had a fantastic lunch, visited five wineries in total, including a wonderful boutique winery and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Our host Maurice was so knowledgeable having worked in the industry for many years and was very interesting to listen and talk to with a great personality. Cannot recommendation highly enough; this tour will not disappoint!!

Mike was Great

We loved our tour with Hop and Grape. They choose what wineries to take you to during the trip, so they can cater to the group’s tastes. The full day tour was cool because the first stop is a beautiful winery where you get a winery tour — walking through the vines, climbing up the large tanks, etc. then Mike did the tasting. From there you visit 4 other wineries and a lunch before ending at a brewery, which is a great way to finish the day. Throughout Mike was extremely informative, easy to talk to and relaxed. Really enjoyed learning about wine and the regiln from him. And the tour picks you up at your lodging. Highly recommend!

Brilliant 1/2 Day Wine Tour

Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the 1/2 day tour led by owner/operator Cam who tailored the trip to people’s preference.

A great mix of wineries ranging from internationally known Cloudy Bay to small family winery, Bladen.

Cam provided an entertainingly informative commentary and also provided great tips for the rest of our time in Marlborough that weren’t restricted to wine related activities!
