John picked us up at our hostel and set us up with bikes and helmets. He gave us a map and helped us figure out our wine tour route and gave us a great recommendation for budget friendly food in the area (super appreciated!). The bikes were in great condition and it was easy to get around to the different wineries. Upon our return we met John's lovely wife and they welcomed us into their beautiful home. On the ride back to the hostel John suggested some restaurants for dinner and even took the long way back to show us exactly where they were. Everything went smoothly, I would highly recommend this bike hire!…

John & Paulette are just wonderful people, they got good bikes and supplied us with water in bike bottles! They picked us up at the hostel and gave us a ride home afterwards. Highly recommendable Bike Hire for vineyard tours! Cheers, Johannes

We did a wine tour on bikes in Mendoza and thought it would be great fun to do the same in Blenheim, since it's flat and easy riding. Actually, the perosnalized service we got was way better than Mendoza. We were picked up from our hotel on time, driven to Stonehaven Vineyard to pick up our bikes. The only must-do vineyard on our list was Cloudy Bay; otherwise we went with John's and Paulette's recommendations. Even though Cloudy bay is one of the few that charges for wine tasting, it's still worth the dough for the overall experience. Our favourite was Te Whare Ra (TWR), a small family-run estate that serves excellent Riesling, Shiraz and Pinot Noir for tasting. Sadly, only small quantities are for export, so we picked up two TWR bottles at the airport before flying home. We also went to Gibson Bridges Wines, specialised in Pinot Gris, and No. 1 Family Estate which pours excellent sparkling wine. In between we had lunch at Wairau River Wines, quite possibly one of the best lunches we had anywhere in New Zealand. We started at 10.30am but since most cellar doors close by 4 or 4.30pm, you can't really visit more than 5-6 vineyards. We took our time and enjoyed talking to the owners, who were all very passionate and enthusiastic about wine-making. That's what it's all about. Overall we were quite happy with our selection. When we went back, John and Paulette invited us in for a coffee before taking us back to our hotel. I realise that most people would prefer to be driven around in a car, something we did in Napa Valley. But given the option, I'd always prefer to do it on a bike. Best of all, since we did a lot of exercise while riding, we felt (almost) sober after the tour.…

We rented out a bike, which was quite old. For 40 NZL Dollars you would expect something better. During handover the process was quite complicated including the instruction, on which side to hang the helmet during breaks. Also not flexible, when we asked to bring back the bike by car... ;-/…

This was one of the successes of our holiday. John was great when emailing to arrange, picked us up exactly on time and gave good advice. He was also there when we returned, giving us a prompt lift home. The bikes were in great condition and easy to get around on. I would definitely recommend.…
