What an amazing drive it is through Haast pass, rugged mountains, moss drenched trees and waterfalls abound. Plenty of places to pull over for photos and enjoy the peace and serinity. Leave plenty of time for this awesome drive.

As with all roads on the west coast you need lots of time to enjoy the scenery around you and the ample stopping points where you can stretch your legs to see a waterfall etc. Not something to be rushed.

Visited on Wednesday 9th May. We were driving from Wanaka to Fox Glacier and drove along Haast Highway. An interesting road and a few places to stop and break the journey.

We drove through this beautiful part of the country and was enchanted by the rugged scenery. Air was fresh and cool with clear blue lakes, streams along the way. Nature at its best.
