Beautiful wide variety of views - alpine, waterfalls, lakes, goblin-like forests. I went in the direction of The Divide to Routeburn Shelter and it was pretty easy with generally gradual inclines and track being well maintained. Walking around 4~6 hrs only daily if walking 3...More

Very fortunate to hit a break in the weather with track being closed 2 days prior to our start. Fantastic alpine scenery without physical demands of track being too onerous so suitable for family or people who want to sample the best of the great...More

A beautiful, not too demanding, track. Walking the complete track from the Holyford Valley to the Dart Valley (or vice versa) is normally done in 3 days with overnights at the McKenzie Hut and the Routeburn Falls Hut. I walked about 9 hours from the...More

We were blessed with a sunny day and hiked from The Divide to Ocean View Corner and back, sneaking in a side trip up Key Summit. This is a great hike. Full stop. Amazing. Mountain views, enormous waterfalls, beautiful forests, gorgeous alpine walking: there is...More

It's an amazing hike. The scenery is breathtaking. Good huts with nice and helpful wardens and good equipment (no need to bring a stove as there are plenty of gas cookers). Do bring earplugs. We had EasyHike move our car and they were terrific to...More

Beautiful track crossing from the The Divide to Routeburn Shelter. Completed this hike as part of a three day tramp. The huts provide gas during the great walks season, flush toilets which is great. In the evening the hut warden will also do a talk...More

For two of us it seemed worth it to pay for car relocation... not that much more than the bus and much more convenient. We used EasyHike and they were great!

When we did the track there were a few fit people that were doing it in a day, looked like a long day but as you say you are fit it is very do-able. The track itself is wide and well marked.
