This was our drag show experience and I wasnt disappointed ted in the queens at all. The show itself was awesome!
The venue was cool but there was definitely some let downs.
The staff were less than helpful and pretty much served one corner of the bar. Even when you held your money out and waited patiently you still got overlooked! One server was more accommodating and helpful but he didnt arrive until right at the end which was a shame.
The chairs provided were hard an less than comfortable.
Loves that the show was small and intimate which was great for us first times.
Once the show was finished the staff quickly removed all chairs etc.
We were sitting on a couch which we were asked to move from so they could move it.
We left very soon after an moved on to another bar.

We apologise for the wait for service .There also is a quick turnaround after the shows for karaoke staff should have explained we are constantly trying to improve so feedback is helpful

We went here to a stand up comedy recently and it was insisted that we take the front seats, which I was not thrilled about in case the comedians sragged us on stage etc. Four acts and none of them very good but it was OK.

We saw Bad Girls of Burlesque at Fringe, what a fabulous show and the bar staff are friendly (and were very responsive when confronted with lack of loo paper in the ladies). They have a good variety of bar snacks and drinks available, we will be looking out for future events at Fringe. Highly recommend booking events at this venue, they are always high caliber entertainment.

Fringe is a wonderful bar but three times over the last four weeks I have been denied access. Bad actually. Use Covid-19 as the reason/excuse but that doesn't the high numbers in other bars close by.
Tonight I was allowed to wait outside in the cold while the doorman let in three blonde girls, one guy bigger than him & two couples. All drunk & rowdy, except for the big guy, he was neat. Other punters just walked in. I think it's daft that one polite male (waiting for his girlfriend) was unable to enter Fringe Bar when there was room by available. I spoke with a bar guy & he said he couldn't understand it either. Tonight, they wouldn't allow singles in, last Friday the doorman told me it was full at 11pm. I couldn't even wait in the cold. Why can't they sit people w other people for god's sake.

Sounds like you had some bad experiences especially during Covid it was a difficult time to operate a venue and we apologise .
There has been extra staff training and a new team leader with a focus on customer service so things have improved we would appreciate a email direct so that we can deal with issues promptly

We have been fortunate to attend two events at fringe bar recently. Arrived early but greeted by friendly staff making us feel very welcome. All events at Fringe very good value and unlike many venues do not over extend breaks between performances to sell excess drinks. Audience very diverse but mixed very well. Good drinks at reasonable price. Hoping to revisit in january if any events on.

No service , forced to sit a table for over 40 minutes, with no drinks . When I went to bar for a drink I was told go back to my table I had to argue the point just to get a glass of water. Couple on table next to us also had no drinks and they were also told To go back to their seat and staff would attend. No one came to serve our table or the table next to us. I was so thirsty that I was nearly forced to go to the toilets and drink from the cold water tap. Staff rude , doorman more interested in getting himself a beer and pokie players being cashed out at the bar , but woe be tied if we could get a drink. We left and won’t be back. The fringe bar was rubbish.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience during covid things were difficult we had to follow government guidelines but no excuse for bad service we hope you have a better experience next time

I visited this place with my girlfriends during a night out in Wellington. The music was cool, people nice but the bar staff charged me more than five times the amount for my drink. $70 for a glass a wine. I questioned it but they snatched my receipt and said I didn’t pay that. It’s such a scam I think the police should be involved. Very sad our first night out in Wellington after COVID was ruined by a scammy bar :(

Didnt even let us sing, said we would be able to wait 2 songs to sing, they let people sing twice then said the place was closed snd didnt even let us sing! We couldve left how rude im so upset all we wanted to do was sing and they lied to us

We were there to see a friend releasing his new album and were expectant of a nice night, but it was cold, the lone barman really uncommunicative and the food exceedingly average. The album release concert was fine and the choice of craft beers ok but what is it when youre having a chat with people afterwards and the barman takes your table away and starts packing up chairswhen people are still communicating and drinking their beers. Had they putupa sogn telling us what time they were closing we probably allwould have timed our refreshments accordingly but there was nithing from the grumpy barman except he was packing up.what a wonderful way to end a night of pleasant new music and coviviality. We wont be back
