Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are grandparents over from the UK. We saw photos of this bookshop on the web and decided to take our grandchildren there for a bit of fun on a grey Sunday afternoon. The stock was amazing and the staff were really helpful. We sat on a little sofa in the toy corner and took time to make a good selection for a seven year old and a four year old. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff.

The staff at this unique book shop know every book in stock. I went looking for a gift and came away very happy with the end product which was even gift wrapped for me. I highly recommend a visit here. Staff will be able to suggest something for your needs.

Staff here have read every book on the shelves. They can find a book to suit the interests and reading ability of all children. You won't be disappointed by the grand knowledge of the staff. Worth a visit if you want the best service.

Visiting Wellington can be a little tricky if you have children. The weather doesn't always behave as you might wish.
We have had a few younger guests holiday with us over the years and on the occasional wet and windy day we have visited the Children's Bookshop in the Kilbirnie Shopping area.
This is a wonderful treasure trove of kids books - fiction and non fiction, New Zealand authors and every other children's author you can imagine. AND every staff member loves kids books and knows exactly what you or your young visitor may like. They are all very Informed and passionate and happy to spend time with the kids young and old making sure they get what they want.
A wonderful place to visit and browse. I love seeing the kids kneeling on the floor with an array of books trying to decide which one or two to choose.
