Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Historical and beautiful exterior church. Surrounded by modern cafes, shops and businesses. It’s an oasis of calm besides a spiritual destination.
Very community oriented. Stop by for a prayer or simply for some quiet.

If you are interested in visiting a church in Wellington where you not only get a very warm and friendly welcome, but want to attend a spiritual place that is inclusive and progressive in their Christian outlook, St Andrew's on the Terrace is a place to stop by on a Sunday morning.

We have visited here twice, on two trips to Wellington, and always enjoy the beauty of the service, the warmth of the welcome and the delightful conversations that happen over tea at the back of the church afterwards.

We were staying on the Terrace and found this Church amongst the many buildings that line this street. It was having it's Sunday service when we arrived and therefore did not disturb the masses to go look inside. The outside is in good condition and has obviously undergone some work in recent times. Glad to see the building is being kept in great condition.

This Presbyterian Church on the Terrace is an oasis of peace among the narow corridor of glass towers full of bureaucrats and suits that leads down to Parliament The architecture is sort of wedding cake but enough to make a point of difference. In Wellington the Old St Paul's is probably a more historically famous Church however St Andrews is still in commission as a place of worship. The Church proudly identifies itself as a "Rainbow Church" and the "Gender Diverse" folk are made welcome. The building is quirky enough to provide a point of interest and the Church provides a variety of distractions such as lunchtime concerts musical recitals and even stress relief sessions. Recently I lucked in on a Youth Orchestra and had an enjoyable 40 minutes of music to listen to

Upside
A quiet place to go to if you need to take a break from the madding crowd

Downside
Tough to find a park if you are in a vehicle

A nice quiet place for meditation in central Wellington but also has free concerts every Thursday at lunch time 1215. Most concerts feature music students, and are of a high standard.

Not only does St Andrews support equality, but there are often good, cheap or free Classical concerts here :-)

St Andrew's on The Terrace is such a welcoming Church. I chose their conference rooms upstairs above the old Hall as a venue for a Storytelling workshop. This workshop was taught by two visiting teachers from The International School of Storytelling in the UK and it is for Teachers, Educators and Parents. David and all connected with St Andrew's are so helpful and organised and made our time there a delight. We were a group of 23 and it is one of the best venues we have ever used. The facilities are excellent. The rental rates are scaled according to the type of organisation so being a community not for profit organisation the rental rate for us is very reasonable. The beautiful old church is a haven of quiet in the bustling atmosphere of Wellington City.

St Andrew’s is a lovely little church up the top of The Terrace in Wellington. A classic church, it is a nice building. What was great was that the church was open to one and all; something that I noticed all across Wellington. It was nice to take a look inside the church and enjoy the peace and quiet. A nice church and well worth a look.
