New Zealand has 15,000 km of coastline, and Scorching Bay is one of them. Even in winter, it's a great place to visit. Its wide, sandy crescent is sheltered from cold winter winds by a curving, rockbound border that juts into the harbor on the...More

The beach is lovely, with good amenities (toilets and showers) and the water was clean. Enjoy the Gulls too. A good area for picnic.

On a day when it's warm enough to swim Scorching Bay is lovely and you can also watch the Interislander Ferry come and go and the odd cruise ship if you are there for any length of time.
