Oriental Bay is gorgeous in the summertime. It's packed full of people going swimming because it's sheltered from the wind (most of the time).

Close to the city, safe for youngsters, lovely white (imported) sand now makes this beach one of the prettiest in Wellington. Excellent ice-cream shop nearby.

Hired a peddling multi person "rickshaw" and cruised around the wonderful waterfront for an hour. Best activity for our family.

It can be a mad house when the sun is shining if its the weekend, but the man made beach is lovelly and the harbour is incredibly clean.. there are also some great cafes nearby

A great respite from the buzz of the city. Enjoy lunch or a coffee and take in the beach atmosphere.
