On a hot summers day this is a great place to go. Yes it will be crowded but there is room for everyone and if you don't want to lay in the sand or go for a swim you can walk along the parade and...More

Gorgeous views and lovely calm waters for the kids to play in. A lovely stroll too. So close to the city also.

I am a Wellingtonian born and bred and love this part of the city. Take a walk along Oriental Parade. There are spectacular views of the harbour on one side and lovely old houses and interesting apartment buildings on the other. In summer there are...More

If you hit welly on a good day in summer this beach is perfect. Sun and shade, toilets, warm water to swim in, food available near by. Easy to spend all day. The water appears pretty clean to, just watch out for the odd jellyfish!...More

Wellington has done very well making the waterfront accessable and it is well worth spending an hour walking about just enjoying the view and (no doubt) dropping in somewhere for a meal or drink.

Strolled from the city centre along the waterfront very picturesque and a lovely city beach at oriental bay. Did seem to be a residential area so not a huge amount of cafes and restaurants by the beach. But plenty on the waterfront.

Oriental Bay is worth a visit as it offers a good Beach front in the heart of the city and it is worth walking along the Harbour front back into town
