Such a lovely place to walk my dog. It's also my daily commute to work when it's not raining. When still and the fountain is going it's really beautiful.

After visiting Victoria Peak, we walked down to Oriental Bay and continued with our lovely walk. The architecture along the bay was beautiful - some houses, some apartment buildings, many from the 1930s. The Norfolk pines along the path were also amazing. There are benches...More

Oriental Bay is one of the highlights of Wellington, a series of beaches that fill with locals in summertime. Foodtrucks, families, mountain & city views. Really it has something for everyone!

Try and approach from Kent Terrace because the parking is mainly on the sea side and is angled toward you. Follow the road around to the cafes, well worth and usually a park available-during the week....

I walked down from Mt Victoria to Oriental Bay on a sunny weekend afternoon. Lots of families on the beach. It was a short walk back to the city and my accommodation.
