Can't beat the capital city on a lovely day, the bay has a great atmosphere from the buzz of waterfront activity to the picturesque vista of the city.

Oriental Bay on a sunny day is worthwhile walking down. We stopped and had a coffee . This is suitable for families as well.

Easily accessed from Wellington Harbour either walking, driving or cycling. Walking/cycling gives you more freedom to see some wonderful boats moored up. Oriental Bay has a small clean beach, sea is clean and small ice cream/tea outlet. Good for kids.

Lovely beach so close to the city. Can be quite windy but that's Wellington. Nice walk once the traffic has quietened.
