Just making the drive around the bays to show people this area is well worth it whether the weather is helpful or not!! The bays are just lovely and the beach gives great views across the harbour towards the capital
Visited Eastbourne to catch up with a friend. Even though it was mid-winter, it was sunny and no wind so lovely and warm. Grabbed a coffee from “Chocolate Dayz” and walked along the beach.

If you like walking along the beach to hear the water and birds then take a walk along here. You can walk for many kilometres collecting rocks and shells. If you get tired walking on the sand there is a boardwalk that follows the beach.
When I lived in Wellington 20 years ago I never visited this place except in bad weather. It’s a lovely spot on a nice day. The wharf is great for jumping for the kids and you can kayak or SUP easily. Nice drive there too.
