Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

NO SAND: the townhall should take off those big and dangerous pebbles (brought during the last war..), and bring sand to the beach !!! As well as umbrellas, armchairs and heautiful beach bars, like in any other seaside place outside England.Take ideas from abroad, see how it is in Marbella (Spain), or in Jesolo(Italy)!

Eastboune is a prominent seaside village and well to do suburb of Lower Hutt of Wellington. A very nice place.

Very limited things to do and quite a small village area. I stopped by on a Thursday afternoon at 2.30pm and some of the shops in the village were closed.

Worth the drive to check out the city from the other side of the sea. We walked from the Boatshed at Days bay around to Eastbourne . The scenery was prett with interesting houses to photograph and it was peaceful to walk alongside the sea. Rona bay Wharf was also worth a visit it was simply breathtaking on a windy day. Plenty of little cafes to try for lunch or a coffee. Eastbourne had a very cool vibe.

Eastbourne appears to be quite out the way from the city, but a short 20 mins drive takes you to what really is a tranquil spot. Amazing views looking back to the city over the harbour, and you are able to see the ferries heading into the wharf. A lovely memorial to the Wahine Disaster is on the road into the beach. Highly recommended

A craggy, rock strewn strip of coastline, with bays and a small township which is nice for a stop for coffee. On a clear day you can see the South Island, often with snow tops on the alps.

Just making the drive around the bays to show people this area is well worth it whether the weather is helpful or not!! The bays are just lovely and the beach gives great views across the harbour towards the capital
