Zealandia just keeps getting better and better. Really easy to see NZ wildlife eg Takahe, Kaka, Tuatara. The place is well laid out, lots to see for a day out. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and are willing to stop and chat. Highly recommended.

Took the kids for a day out and really enjoyed it. We got to see some native birds for the first time ever such as takahe, kaka and saddlebacks. Saw tuataras out in the wild for the first time which was amazing. Guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. Husband and son went on the little boat across the reservoir on the way back and got up close and personal to a tree full roosting shags. The boat is not wheelchair or pushchair friendly so I ended up having to walk back with my daughter in her stroller but didn’t mind as it’s a lovely easy stroll back to the entrance of the park. Finished off the visit to the small exhibition of native flora and fauna which was very interesting.

We did the 2 hour walking tour as recent immigrants to NZ and it was absolutely brilliant! It was really informative and Julia as a guide was an absolute font of knowledge. The groups are small (12 or less) so it's really good value and not overcrowded in the slightest. Might be a bit much for younger kids, but there are other things they can do. Our 11 year old really enjoyed it.

Smart move doing a day tour on your first visit - it's the best way to get the most out of your visit and spot some incredible wildlife. We hope you can visit again soon and refresh your new knowledge and bird spotting skills! :)

We spent two very enjoyable hours here with one of the volunteer guides walking around Zealandia. We learnt about the origins of Zealandia, saw lots of birds and tuatara and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We'd spent the previous day and many more $ on a tour of the north end of Kapiti Island and this was a superior experience in every way. Take the opportunity to go and support this extraordinary achievement before it is once again overrun by visitors from overseas.

Had a 10am daytime tour with Roy … such a lovely guide…just the right amount of talking and he was so helpful finding me the Hihi bird which had a special meaning for me with a connectiontomHihi beach Northland.
We loved it all…a well polished team help keep this place up to date and everything running on time.
The birds, tuataras, lizards.. all played there part and there was plenty to see.
We would have missed a lot just going without a guide. So thank you to all at Zealandia for a beautiful Wellington blue dome windless Sunday morning treat.

Overwhelmed by how huge this place is. Walks of all capabilities and birds everywhere. I honestly didn't expect it to be this good. I went deep into the bush and barely scratched the surface. Saw Takahe, Saddleback, stitchbird, kaka, bellbird and heaps more including loads of tuatara. I'm definitely going back to try more tracks. Loved it.

We visited Zealandia today and we were blown away with the kindness, support and consideration the staff had shown us.
My partner recently broke his leg over Christmas and we have been desperately trying to find places to visit. Straight away we were provided with the opportunity to use a manual wheelchair and motorised scooter. The staff literally followed us to make sure we were happy, carried our drinks, opened doors, entertained our son and made us feel so welcome with their sense of humour and friendliness.
Such a pleasant and wonderful experience.

A excellent morning experience for young and old. Easy walking tracks in the main. Plenty of things to capture the interest of visitors from the bird life and tuatara. Currently school children are free. We walked to the top dam and returned over the swing bridge.
