So, yes, we got across the Strait and back again. Tick. One trip was delayed a bit but well communicated to us. Tick. The check-in, loading, disembarking and luggage collection was simply easy and well managed, again with good comms. Tick. Our advice- do take an upgrade to a cabin if you can. We slept on both legs (noting the... More

Have used Bluebridge twice recently and was unlucky to get a very rough crossing both times! The first time the staff could not have been more attentive - walking around, checking on people, making sure people had sick bags if needed, assisting them in any way they could. A couple of days ago the staff were absent. So 5 stars... More

We took the early morning sailing from Wellington to Picton the day after the Easter break. Check in was easy, and loading seemed to go very smoothly. One thing I noticed was that there seemed to be a little more room between the columns of cars than there is on a UK cross channel ferry, so it was easier to... More

we took the 2PM ferry from Picton to wellington. Checkin was smooth and the person at the counter took our rental car keys, which was so very convenient. The ship is very spacious and comfortable with a cafeteria, movie hall, relaxing lounge etc. Food was ok and the trip very enjoyable. its actually a huge ship which take in everything... More

Bluebridge is heavily dependent on cargo and we experienced a total delay off the posted schedule of 6 hours. The food is OK but with rough seas of about 3-4 meters, the ferry rose and dove making at least 20% of the passengers sea sick. We took the other ferry back from Picton and were much more satisfied.

Rather a disappointing experience. The ferry was 50 minutes late due to disorganisation of to much freight and this then was an inconvenience to our pre booked connecting service from Nelson. The onboard wifi is a terrible connection, there is no water fountain for passengers and the seats are uncomfortable. Definitely a poor overpriced experience who we will not be... More

The boat itself has great amenities although you have to be quick to get the single seats running outside the cafeteria in the covered area. Smooth sailing which was one out the box, but the movies were good the food was excellent and I would travel on this line agan.

I will start off with the good points I could find about our sailing from Picton to Wellington. *The cabins are lovely and comfortable. *The Open steak sandwhich from the cafe is up there with the best we have ever eaten, *The staff onboard the boat that we sailed on from Picton to Wellington were friendly enough ................ But that... More
