We used Blubridge ferries to cross the Cook Strait to Picton. Our car hire company (Apex) included the crossing as part of our car hire so we didn’t really have a choice. The ferry had a great range of food though the queue took a...More

Could not believe the state of this ship, does not appear to be cleaned between sailings at all. Crumbs over the tables, dead flies in the porthole window areas along with more food waste. Toilets smell like old public toilets, the smell of urine was...More

6 out of 7 times I've taken Bluebridge my ferry was delayed for at least an hour, usually much longer. I would definitely recommend taking Interislander if you have the option.

Our trip to Nelson was cut short as our ferry was unable to sail. We had to sail at 2m on the same day (2am in the morning instead of 7pm). That might have been bearable but the ferry obviously wasn't cleaned in between sailings....More

Ok basic ferry. Quite old. Nowhere to charge electronic devices. Outside space has limited seating and bit grubby. Cafe menu/food and service was quite good. Left on time but despite glorious weather arrived a little late and took sometime to get off with the car....More

We booked bluebridge because it offered sleeping cabins whereas interislander does not. The room was quite spacious and had an attached bathroom, which was quite convenient. Unfortunately, the ferry was late. We departed about 1.5-2 hours after the planned departure time and since it was...More

Didn’t depart on time, about 20 minutes late. Very friendly staff but the smell inside and outside was awful. There was a lack of helpful signage to let the walk on group know where to go to get off the boat.

We don’t travel much on the ferries, and this was the second time in a dozen years on Bluebridge. The first time we were late by many hours, with a young family, due to the service running on one engine and departing late. Today’s experience...More

Hi, best to prebook to make sure you have space reserved. All our tickets are date changeable so if you need to change your sailing date this won't be a problem. Enjoy!
