This was about as comprehensive a city tour as you could done in half a day. Granted it is not like Wellington is huge, but we traveled from one end of the city to the other and saw all the highlights along the way. We started out by seeing the Parliament Building with its adjoining Beehive. We then went up into the hills and visited Otari Wilton's Bush Nature Park. Then it was off to Mount Victoria on the other side of the city. We stopped for coffee and hot chocolate in Scorching Bay. Then it was a return to the city looking at private funiculars before we arrived at the Wellington Trolley, a funicular in its own right. After riding to the top we went off to see the National War Memorial grounds celebrating those who lost their lives in the various wars in which New Zealanders participated and, finally, we had our tour guide drop us off at Burger Fuel in downtown which he claimed was the best burger joint in town. It was a fast paced, well commentated tour of the history of Wellington highlighted by the various stops. I am sure there is much, much more but we felt like this was a great overview.

Our full day experience of the LOR filming locations around Wellington was amazing. We had a private tour with our guide and she was amazing. We had so much fun looking at the different places. Fernside County Gardens was my favorite place. So magical. Joe really loved the Weta Studios tour which was a great way to end our day. Thank you so much Robin and Joe, North Carolina USA
